Toy Story 3
Toy Story 3 Puts The Power Of Creation At Your Fingertips

The PC community has spent years tailoring their own experience in their favourite games using mod tools to create scenarios they want to play, rather than scenarios the devs want you to play.

Just Cause creators, Avalanche Studios, are looking to do the same with their upcoming Toy Story 3 movie tie-in title. Not only does it boast authentic and true to-the-film visuals and animations, but Toy Story 3, due in June, also includes a “toy box” mode, that is set to empower the user with the chance to do whatever the hell they please, as shown in their latest trailer.

With the obvious target audience being the juniors of the gaming world out there, I somehow believe that this adorable trailer might just sway a few of the more experienced gamers. You know, the ones that have an affinity to create, explore and customise.

Toy Story 3 is out on June 15th in North America.

This looks so awesome, can't wait to try it out. Also, there have already been a few pretty good movie tie-in games. G-Force, Monsters vs Aliens, and Wolverine come to mind.

Toy Story ftw! Definitely going to watch the film and I'll probably get the game. I don't care if it's a 'kids' game, it's Toy Story! xD

Toy Story is ace, but 98% of the time: film -> game -> fail.
They need to learn that games are a completely different kind of media, and they are greater than films, not 'The next step down the line'. A film is good for 2 hours of entertainment, some games are good for 200 hours.
It's like making an rpg of a short novel, theres simply not enough IP to make a complete game out of it.
I'd love to see the story of KZ2 or Dead Space interpreted as a film, they should try something like that.

Looks like there are missions in toy box mode, which makes me wonder if it's kind of like Scribblenauts in which you are free to try and do the mission using whatever materials are available. Regardless, I'll be picking this up to try it sometime.

I've been looking forward to this game since I read the article about it in the latest Game Informer. They're actually designing this game specifically to be a good game, and not just a children's cash-cow. If you read the article, fears that the game is a marketing afterthought to the movie will be completely dispelled. Matter of fact, their first pitch of the game had nothing to do with the movie at all, including just the Toy Box mode. The story mode came later, when they convinced Disney to basically pay for two games in one package. And don't worry, they've been working on this for a good, long time, so it shouldn't come off as the usual rush job either. :)

The engine and so on looks awesome, but I think the setting is wrong. The fact that it has to revolve around toy story is a bit sad. Still, will probably get it, as I have a 9 year old brother who I know enjoys this series.

3do died so they can't make anymore army men games. I guess this will be a substitute.

The trailer convinced me to give this a try...that is if I can actually buy it. I'm gonna see the movie this June, but I don't know about the game. Easy trophies or not, I still wanna try the game.
