Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Has Entered Full Production
Written Tuesday, July 21, 2020 By Matt Lorrigan

Tetsuya Nomura, Game Director on Final Fantasy VII Remake, has confirmed that Part 2 of the game has entered full development in an interview with Famitsu (translated by @aitaikimochi on Twitter).

Nomura was also asked when the next installment of the Remake would be released, and while he unsurprisingly wasn't able to give a definitive date, he did say he wanted to release it ASAP.

"We know that everyone wants the next installment quickly. We would also like to deliver it as soon as possible. Since we were also able to see the line of quality from the first installment, we hope to make the next installment even better in quality that can make for an even better experience," Nomura explained.

"We would to get it out as soon as possible, so please wait for it. I think we can clearly convey the direction when we official announced the next installment."

In more ambiguous news, Producer Yoshinori Kitase stated in the interview that "the new story of Final Fantasy VII has only just begun", which is intriguing considering the way that FF7 Remake alters the story of the original game. We'll have to wait until Part 2 to find out more.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available now for PlayStation 4.

@3 Why do you care if it's timed or not? Like your Xbox more than Playstation? Nothing wrong with that I suppose. I like both, but lean more towards Playstation.

Should be interesting to see how long this one takes. The first one went into full production right after Kingdom Hearts 3 came out and was released a little bit over a year later. It probably had a lot more preproduction work done by that point though.

@4 The 1st game was rife with issues because of the console hardware. I look forward to a PC release, not plagued by such issues.

@QDawg187 trust me, I played on the PS4 Pro and it was the best looking game I ever played. Really dont know what you mean by “limited by console hardware.” Never saw a review or a friend mention such nonsense since the game came out in March. In runs and plays fantastic. On a side note to each their own but I find it weird you also dont want to play PS when its partnered on the PS family for nearly 25 years. Idk, to me thats like starting Kingdom Hearts 3 on xbox or Doom on the Switch. Just personally odd to me.

@8 Played it on a Pro as well myself, wished I had waited the year for the Pc version.

Every review I've seen, even the fanboy sites have pointed out all types of texture and geometry problems. They're plain as day.

That and 30fps

@#6 Don't come onto a dedicated Playstation website to spout PC Masterrace crap.

30fps is sufficient for this type of game and is relly only meant for online gaming or first person shooter games. Besides if you want to crap on the frame rate then you should have waited on the PC version because that one will always be the superior version if you have a beast of a gaming computer.

I played the game several times and loved every moment of it. I don’t understand why people feel the need to trash every game that comes out. Not every game will be perfect and everyone is entitled to their opinion, lately some people on here make this site sound more like a complaint festival than a trophy support site. Let’s just go back to appreciating great games like we used to.
