GreedFall and The Technomancer developer Spiders has revealed its new game -- the rather bizarre-looking Steelrising; a game set during an alternate history French Revolution in which King Louis XVI has deployed an army of evil robots that look a little bit like the clockwork soldiers from Dishonored 2.

An action RPG, Steelrising takes place in Paris and has you playing as main character Aegis, a robot tasked with fighting King Louis XVI's reign of automaton terror and putting an end to the suppression of the French people. Ultimately, it falls to you to change the course of history and save Paris.

Platforms for Steelrising have yet to be confirmed, but it looks like a next-gen project for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Expect seven different weapon classes, robot action aplenty, and more. Give the first teaser trailer for Steelrising a look below.

Odd take on history. Louis XVI didn't lead the Reign of Terror, he lost his head during it.

Sounds interesting and unique enough, looking forward to seeing some proper gameplay eventually.

Distinct sounding story.

Spiders have been releasing interesting titles, so I'll keep my eyes out for this.
