Assassin's Creed Ragnarok Leaks Are Incorrect, According to Analyst
Written Monday, January 13, 2020 By Matt Lorrigan

Video game analyst and industry insider Daniel Ahmed has poured cold water on the Assassin's Creed Ragnarok leaks we've been seeing, saying that so far they have all been "incorrect".

Posting on Resetera on 12th January 2020 in response to a blurry screenshot, thought to have been the first image of the rumoured game, Ahmed said "For what it’s worth. All of the new AC leaks so far have been incorrect. It’s not even called Ragnarok." That would also suggest that the pre-order listings on sites such as Amazon Germany and Gamestop Italy are based purely on the speculation, not any internal knowledge of the game.

Some of the details we have heard may turn out to be true, even if it's purely coincidental, with Ahmed continuing "Sure. Some of the details are right. Like improved combat or whatever. But in general they’re not that accurate."

Later on in the thread, Ahmed confirmed that the details are based on Jason Schreier's original Kotaku report from April 2019. "These recent leaks are based on the original AC Kingdom leak from Kotaku itself. So some of it is true or not far off the truth. But mostly it’s a bunch of educated guesses."

Ahmed has been a very reliable source in the past, with an excellent track record. To be fair, we are due a new Assassin's Creed this year, so it may not be too long until we find out from Ubisoft directly - possibly an E3 reveal, as was the case in 2018?

In the meantime, Assassin's Creed Odyssey is available right now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Anyone know how to get a job as an analyst? I'd love to be paid to sit somewhere and make guesses about games.

Sorry to irritate any of you, but if the rumors about this game having a map that includes York, London, Paris, and Kiev, as well as the rumor about how the Hidden Blade can be upgraded to a one-hit-kill weapon, and the rumor about assassinations being carried out while the player is in snow and/or mud, bushes, and hay bales, are correct, then the one thing that I wish would be that this new game will NOT have any online trophies that need a PlayStation Plus subscription to earn them. Sorry about this.

Until more details are announced by Ubisoft, I am going to take all of this with a grain of salt. Carry on.

Yeah, because someone's gonna admit that a leak is accurate. What a bunch of dumbasses.

Even if it isn't accurate, the point still stands.
