Assassin's Creed Ragnarok Rumoured Release Date, Co-Op and Other Details Leak

Here we go. It's time for the obligatory Assassin's Creed leak, the recent leaked store listings apparently not quite enough. This latest info dump purports to have the reveal date, release date, co-op details, locations, the lead character's name, and a whole bunch of other stuff. It might be a load of old bollocks, but let's have a look anyway, shall we?

As we've already heard, the title is reportedly Assassin's Creed Ragnarok and is apparently due to be revealed during a 'PlayStation Meeting' on 12th February 2020, the same time the PS5 is allegedly set to be fully unveiled. The rumour mill also has 29th September 2020 down as the official Ragnarok release date, with an initial launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version comes out.

The lead character is said to be 'Jora', a protagonist that you can choose to be either male or female, while a 4-player drop-in/drop-out co-op campaign is said to be in the offing too. Last time Assassin's Creed tried this was in Unity, with shall we say, 'mixed' results. RPG mechanics could return if the leaked details are legit, albeit with tweaked skill trees, weapon durability to take into account, and 'berserker' abilities dictated by elemental runes, namely the likes of fire, frost, and lightning.

The series' staple parkour could be treated to an overhaul too, with tree climbing and new animations, while sailing is also due to make a comeback, with a focus on exploration rather than naval warfare. Fans of the hidden blade will be delighted to hear that it too could be returning, with upgrades able to transform it into a one-hit kill stealth weapon, and assassinations can apparently be performed from hay bales, bushes, or camouflaged areas like snow or mud.

'Odin sight' could replace the bird drone too, as Odin's raven may be used to scope out areas, and large-scale raids, the largest open-world area yet with locations like York, London, Paris, and Kiev, are also being touted. A renewed onus on stealth is said to also be on the cards, with appropriate clothing enabling you to blend with crowds. It all sounds very good... Perhaps too good to be true.

So, all of this info could be complete arse, then, but it makes for some fairly interesting reading. Should these details be kosher, we could be seeing Assassin's Creed Ragnarok on 12th February 2020, assuming it hasn't all leaked by then. As ever, watch this space.

If co-op is in this will be the first AC game since AC2 i won't get day one. Co-op was horrendous in Unity and killed every aspect of the game cuz a lot of people online are idiots. Not to mention as Unity showed the main game got bogged down horrifically due to gear being tied to helix points. Ubisoft also didn't think to tweak the co-op for solo players and made those missions(which are needed for plat and 100%) a major pain in the ass.

"Fans of the hidden blade will be delighted to hear that it too could be returning, with upgrades able to transform it into a one-hit kill stealth weapon" You mean like Origins? It was exactly the same in Origins......

Off to a better note. It does sound over all amazing. I love nordic themed games and they can be fun as hell. But if the world is even BIGGER then Odyssey that would be my 2nd biggest issue. Odyssey was beautiful and well detailed. But it was a major pain in the ass to travel and was empty for 70% of it.

Although I have really enjoyed Origins and Odyssey, I don't think they should have the Assassins Creed tags. I really preferred the whole Templars and medieval setting from the first game and would like to see Assassins Creed go back to that settings. Perhaps if Origins, Odyssey and now Ragnarok would have been a new franchise ałtogether, that might have been better suited for the whole dealings with supernatural and historical Fantasy creatures.

No thanks. This isn't AC. The past two games were like shitty Witcher 3 knockoffs. They ruined this series by forcing it to be something it isn't. This series is no longer about assassins. It isn't about stealth. It fucking sucks.

If they stop making the games like skyrim and the witcher they would he better off. Origins was a fun game however Odyssey was one that I started and still haven't touched. Not a fan of what they did to it

Bring back templars vs assassins. Also I might be in the minority but I enjoyed the modern day story that linked all the games together.

I miss times when you could climb on Hagia Sofia, Florence Cathedral or some other epic buildings. I miss time when I could run on roof of some epic old city. I mean, Origins and Odyssey is ok too sure, but don’t have that ‚wow’ feeling anymore...
I’m wondering why there never was any AC game yet in feudal Japan? Every year I’m hoping for that. I would be happy, and I’m quite sure that I’m not the only one. Way more happy than this settings. And I love Nordic mythology btw.

Origins did feel like Assassin's creed, but Oddessy didn't at all, rpg is not past events no matter how far back it is
