Metal Gear Survive Will Feature a 'Dense' Single Player Mode

In a hands-on session with Metal Gear Survive, Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Survive will feature a 'dense' single-player campaign as well as the already revealed co-operative multiplayer.

Actions taken in the co-op part of the game will reward players with resources that can be used in the single player, though details on how that system will work remain scarce.

A PR contact from Konami has confirmed there'll be more information about the single-player part of the game to share soon.

In co-op mode, you have to craft gears and gadgets, develop your class and build your base camp. You’ll create your own character, take them through the game in both single-player and co-op. Your ultimate goal is to defend an outpost/generator, working together strategically to keep various waves of enemies at bay. The more points you get, the more loot you can bring back to your single-player campaign.

Once a mission is complete, you'll be rewarded tiered loot (coloured similarly to Destiny's rarity levels - Green for Common, Blue for Rare, Purple for Legendary, Yellow for Exotic) which seems to drop from loot pools depending on the level you're playing.

Metal Gear Survive will be out for Xbox One and PS4 in early 2018.

I don,t know how they came up with the idea for doing a survival game in the MGS universe, but hey never say never, and it might appeal to some. I def give it a try once it comes out, just to see how well it plays like. Might be something of a suprice.

I'm kind of surprised this game wasn't cancelled after seeing most people's reaction to the trailer. It seems like shameless cash grab using the last Metal Gear's Engine and assets with zombies thrown in.

This game is going to fail just as bad as that metro prime game the nintendo tried the releasing a year or 2 ago.

Knowing Konami the "loot" can be bought with micros and anything higher then uncommon will be like 1% drop rates to boost micro sales. Just like how they ruined MGSV mother base from the down right amazing MB system in Peace Walker.

Considering how they treated Kojima, are currently blocking Kojima Productions from company insurance out of spite, black listing other ex-employees and the way they treat current employees like slaves.. Konami will never see another cent from me. Their CEOs are the most out of touch immature douchebags. THEY fired Kojima and can't get over it and perpetuate this myth that he cost them a lot of money when MGS ganes were fairly middle ground in costs and sold exceedingly well while winning tonnes of awards. Regardless, after firing their own resident genius they sold us 3/4 of a AAA game at full price and now this shameless cash grab? Nah.. No thanks. Best thing they could do is port Twin Snakes and leave MGS Alone. Instead of blaming Kojima, they should accept accountability for poor decisions, put PT back on the PSN and give Kojima a formal apology. Maybe then id consider giving them the time of day again

Bullseye. Konami have been treating their employees like dirt for years and the massive decline in the quality of their games, is proof positive that they have completely lost touch with the gaming community. With the exception of MGS 5 and maybe 4, the MGS games had fairly small budgets when compared to something like GTA or COD so Konami can't play that card as it's nonsense.

The way Konami are treating Hideo Kojima, is absolutely appalling and means I'll never buy another one of their games.

nah, im gonna boycott anything that that company does or makes from this point on. we gamers HAVE to stand up to bullshit, and the policies and total disrespect of their employees and developers. riddle me this? would you buy a big mac if you knew that the CEO was a misogynistic pedophile that physically abuses people? if your conscious was right you wouldn't buy another hamburger as long as you live right? Im just hypothetically speaking, but do yourself a solid and show Konami that you wont support their products and their policies by proxy.. we all have a choice and if you decide to support this game, its your RIGHT, but its also other gamers rights to NOT support and if you are amongst us, to revoke your "gamer pass" and credentials.. There are hundreds of games to play, this one wont be one of them..

As a trophy hunter, you lost me at RNG. The Cat Call related trophy in Injustice 2 is enough for me to never want to touch another game with an RNG related trophy.

I think "dense" is a good word for this.

We can all hope Raiden will come in and save the day somewhere around act 17...
