Did GameStop Just Accidentally Leak Telltale's Guardians Of The Galaxy Release Date?

GameStop may have just accidentally released when TellTale's Guardians Of The Galaxy game will be released.

According to a listing on the retailer's site (which has since been pulled), the first episode of the game (at least) is due for release on April 27th. That could very well be a placeholder date, but GameStop pulling the product page entirely seems to suggest that perhaps there's some truth to it.

Luckily for us (and the internet at large), WWG took a screencap of the page before it was nuked. GameWatcher was also the site that brought our attention to this story - so thanks!

If that's not enough for you, the whole synopsis for the game was uploaded to the site, too - you can take a look at that below:

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series delivers a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes, the rag-tag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot.

In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.

From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.

April 27th would be a sensible release date for the game, since the North American theatrical release of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out the following week, on 5th May. The UK release of the film is due to drop the day after the theorised release date, too - on 28th April.

Just finishing up Batman as I type this. Guardians will be a great addition. These games are so enjoyable as well as a nice platinum to go with them!

Tell Tale is really upping the number of games they are releasing each year. I hope that doesn't make people too tired of them and that the quality doesn't go down.

I'm still waiting to hear some news about the James Bond game.

These games suck. Telltale had gone down the shutter. Their games are nothing but QTEs these days. No more adventure game mechanics like puzzles, only stupid QTEs.

You can't even fail the QTEs either. Gah they used to put out awesome adventure games like Walking Dead S1, Back to the Future and even JP was fun. Now it's just watch 10 minutes of cutscenes, press A, Down, X You and watch more cutscenes. Yay, you earned 5 trophies for doing this for 2 hours straight.Where is the gameplay??

I bought Batman just because it was on the regular £9.99 sale.. so you guys are telling me it's good eh? As good as Tales of the Borderlands? I love TOTB's wit and humour... I wonder if we'll be expecting the same with Guardians... hope so... but as always with TTG games, I wait for at least a year (when all DLCs are out) and on a SALE before I get them...

It's a good spin on the BM universe. Very different yet familiar at the same time. Plus it's an easy Plat :)

This makes sense because TWD: A New Frontier will be released monthly. The Platinum for it will be out during March. April is Guardians episodic releases.

I hope they deliver better quality in the future. Batman for PS3 was awful. PS4 Version was better but still... haven't played Walking Dead 3 yet...

I wish they would stop calling these games. All they are is a cinema where at times you can choose what to say or do. You don't even have too choose and it will still continue. Basically watch the cinema and bam you have a platinum. Then people brag about their platinums which they didn't even actually earn or put time into.
