PaperSeven Studio, a Brighton-based indie team comprising former Disney Black Rock Studio devs and The Room writer Oliver Reid-Smith, has announced story-driven first-person adventure Blackwood Crossing.

The game explores the relationship between orphaned siblings Scarlett and Finn as they gradually grow apart. With Scarlett coming of age and leaving childhood behind, her and Finn soon cross paths with a shadowy figure during a "seemingly ordinary" train journey that soon leads into a "magical story of life, love and loss". Sounds intriguing.

"This is our first original game since forming PaperSeven and we are immensely proud to be announcing it" PaperSeven Co-Founder Alice Guy. "There’s been some fantastic narrative adventure games coming out in recent times - we’re hoping to take a place at this table whilst offering something different to what’s come before.

"Blackwood Crossing is evidence of our desire to explore experiences with depth and meaning, and create characters that challenge the often clichéd gaming landscape."

Blackwood Crossing will be heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2016. Give the teaser trailer a look below.

The look of it already looks promising. Doesn't look like a indie game but I guess that's the result of experienced devs coming together to make a studio. I'm looking forward to this.

Pleased to see its not set in Blackwood South Wales. That would have been disastrous.
