Deep Silver and Techland have released a new gameplay trailer for Dead Island: Definitive Edition, offering the 'dead facts' behind the revamped versions of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide.

Both games will feature higher quality textures on PS4 and Xbox One, with better resolution and an "improved" level of quality "across the board", as well as a "photorealistic" new lighting system, physically-based shading, enhanced image quality via anti-aliasing, various new effects, improved quality game models, and an updated game UI.

You'll also be able to play with the Power Fists Power-up PC mod, included as standard in both games. Dead Island: Definitive Edition will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 31st May for $39.99/£29.99 with Dead Island Retro Revenge chucked in. Or you can get then separately for $19.99/£14.99.

The PS4 version will also support PS Vita Remote Play, Share-Play and all that jazz. Check out the new trailer below.

Loved these games, and will be a blast playing though them again. Anyone wanna do the arena DLC just message me, I'm in. Retro might be OK for a change of playing styles. Dead Island 2 should be out early next year. Now that Deep Silver has Sumo to replace Techland and Yager. Just hope its good, but after everything thats happened, I dont expect as much as before.

@4 I'm not going to buy this or DI2(if it ever comes out.....)day one simply because Deep Silver is worse then Ubisoft on bugs/glitches on release.

I remember buying this game day one on the 360, enjoying it for about 30 or 40 hours, and then my game saves disappeared and I lost all progress. Played 'Riptide,' more bugginess, and after that, I gave up on dishing out day one for Techland games.

I'm with ya #6. Played 60+ on my one character, and right before the main boss, my save data went, BOOOP, gone. I had others on the go, but, the corruption was linked to item duplication. I'll be getting this for sure.

This game only came out 5 years ago and already a remake. I'll pass on the Dead Island:Ever-So-Slightly-Better-Looking Edition. That $40 would be better spent on something I didn't already play.

Loved this game, played it so much near when it launched. I thought it was one of the best games on 360, because of the customisation options with weapons, to the different zombies, to the RPG elements shown in the game! I don't understand why it is receiving a lot of hate and people bashing it when I think it's a pretty fun game if you just want to mess around.
