EA Announces 'Create'

EA has today announced that EA Bright Light Studio is working on new IP 'Create', which will be released on the publisher's EA Play label and will incorporate PlayStation Move support.

Encouraging the entire family to get involved in creating environments to solve various gameplay challenges, where the more creative the solution, the greater the reward, Create wants to stimulate players' creative juices with all sorts of tools and items at your disposal. Additionally, the more players you create with, the more challenges you beat and the more you explore and customise the world, the more rewards you'll eventually unlock.

"We wanted to design a game where the entire family can explore, decorate, and solve challenges where no solution is wrong and the only limit is the imagination," said Harvey Elliott, VP and General Manager at EA Bright Light.

Create utilises easy-to-use brush tools alongside textures, props and animated objects to build your own scenes and even set your own challenges or download others and remix the solutions.

Create is due for a November 2010 release. Check out the first five screenshots in the gallery.

So you decide you wanna rip off LBP SORT OF, but can only do a half ass version. and normally i wouldnt assume "rip off" so quickly but when you go out of your way to use the word "Create" you gotta know what territory you're crossing over into

EA Guy 1: LBP is kind of a good game, right?
EA Guy 2: I hear Media Molecule is selling a lot of copies.
EA Guy 1: We can make something like that, right?
EA Guy 2: My team is already on it.
EA Guy 1: I hope you're appealing our demographic audience!
EA Guy 2: Families, right?
EA Guy 1: RIGHT!

The graphic style/UI are LBPish... In fact a lot of it is, but at least it's slightly different.

Hmm. Looks like a mix of Trials' gameplay controls and...LittleBigPlanet's customization. I'm not gonna scream rip off yet, but I'm interesting to see more about this game.

Ok , now they said that they want it where a family can (explore, decorate, and solve challenges where no solution is wrong).

Yeah ok what ever...thats until you try to earn the trophies in the game , in which case every solution would be wrong unless you did it their way as per trophy requirments. Which means only one solution to earn trophies.

@13: Sadly, EA is not going anywhere. They are one of the biggest game producers on the planet.

And @2 hit it on the head perfectly. Yet another case of EA trying to jump on a different IP's bandwagon.

They just make the trophy for completion of the level or whatever, so the method is not important, trophy still unlocks once its done.

I wouldnt be supprised to see a trophy or two in there for finishing a level multiple times using diffrent methods just to promote the imagination part they are pushing.

Do you guys remember how EA secretly paid people to protest Dante's Inferno's release and stir a controversy to propel the sales? Wow, this should be brought up more often.

As I read the description, my first though was Scribblenauts rip-off, but once I saw the screenshots, I'm thinking it may be a mix between Scribblenauts, LBP, and Trials. I'll not jump on the rip-off bandwagon until we see some gameplay... ^_^

@35 I remember, I also remember how Sony aquired a real decapitated goat with edible entrails (which was later revealed to be supplied from a catering service) and several topless women serving fruit to guests to promote God of War 2 at a pre-launch party.

Manhunt, GrandTheft Auto, Marilyn Manson, Howard Stern, Showgirls, Lolita, Pretty Baby, The Passion Of The Christ, the list goes on, covering everything from books to movies to music and so on...controversy is self-propelled advertisement.

Even if its faked or supplied by the producer/developers.

There are very few truly original ideas out there for anything and most games are a rip off of something else in one way or another.

Who knows - maybe this will be heaps of fun. With the title and the gaphic styling it looks like a blatant rip off but I loved LBP and I will probably give this a go.

OK don't get me wrong I love EA but I mean come on!!! They apparently love making rip offs! I mean most games take alot of stuff from a similar game but EA will take one game change the setting and characters and make it a game... Dante's Inferno for example! and now this! come on!

I don't really like judging games by there covers so I'm probably going to get this and LBP2 because I love creative games. LBP2 will obviously dig this game a new grave. But this create game looks more vehicle based platformer.

You don't call a game "create". It instantly made me think of LBP no matter what they say it all sounds and looks like LBP. They can't hide the fact they are trying to be as good as media molecule.
