Welcome to my Trophy Guide for The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief, a crime visual novel from Nordic Games. The plot centres around you, Constable Zellner of the Swiss Police and the crimes of The Raven, a revered and renowned thief. You are merely to serve as an escort for a valuable gem but quickly get sucked into a web of murder, treachery and robbery as you chase the elusive master criminal.

Gameplay wise, there is very little more than speaking to people, going places and interacting with object, sometimes combining them to form more useful items in order to track down The Raven. There is no difficulty setting but there is a Tutorial at the beginning of the game to get you familiar with the controls. The entire story is broken down into 3 chapters, each of which has it's own set of puzzles for which you will be scored depending on whether or not you needed a hint to solve it, which will negate performance related trophies so just to make this clear from the off:

**Do not, at ANY time, press as it will give you a hint on how to proceed but at the cost of your credit score and thus you will not be awarded a Master Detective rating or the corresponding gold trophy for that chapter**

One other thing to mention is you can save the game at any point but not to a designated file, there is only one save file and you overwrite it whenever you choose to save or the autosave feature does it for you so be very careful about proceeding too soon.

As far as trophies go, the majority are missable and depend on how much detail you go into during the game. Any that are not story related will need some kind of additional action to be unlocked and it's not always obvious what that is. Due to this, I have put each description in a spoiler and also written a complete walkthrough from start to finish to supplement this guide which encompasses every single trophy that the game has to offer. For that, please visit the Master Detective - Complete Walkthrough.

Upon completion of a Chapter, the credits will roll and after a score menu, you'll go back to the main menu. If you choose to reload, it will put you back the last checkpoint of the Chapter you completed and you will enter an endless cycle of constantly completing the last part of the Chapter. To continue, you must choose 'New Game' and then the next Chapter. It will warn you with a prompt that you will overwrite any unsaved progress, just hit 'Yes'. I know it's not very coherent but rest assured that 'New Game' does not forget all of your progress in the Chapters you've already done and hence, will keep you on track for Completionist.

Once more thing. I have used spoilers deliberately in the forum Guide for the majority of trophies, simply reveal them to find a walkthrough of interactions/dialogue to follow which will unlock the trophies. All of these are excerpts from the Master Detective - Complete Walkthrough and outline exactly what to do. Occasionally you will notice an instruction to 'Equip' an item, marked with an asterix (*). This means you must press and equip that item from your inventory, as opposed to interacting with an object in the scenery which will be the default action for any other instruction.

**Glitch Alert**

There's 2 trophies in the game that can glitch, Completionist and Crime Scene Investigator. For the CSI trophy, you just have to do things in a very set order. There are about a dozen objects in one room to inspect and you must leave two things until last, because inspecting them before the others will 'end' the investigation yet you won't notice this and the game carries on. To avoid it, do the exact steps as outlined in the Guide.

The second trophy though is much more problematic. The cause is progressing too far into the game without recording each puzzle as 100% done, because you can 'solve' a puzzle just enough to get by or crack it wide open. If you merely just solve a puzzle, then you will still get any trophy tied to it but you won't get the all important puzzle solution score and if you then progress to the end of the Chapter and start another one, you will overwrite the last save it was recorded on and somehow it will always be remembered. The result is you will never be able to unlock Completionist and the Platinum, no amount of deleting save/game data, even game deletion and reinstallation will not fix it. The only viable workaround is to actually play on a different console, which is a very extreme measure. To avoid this pitfall, I strongly urge you to use the Master Detective - Complete Walkthrough which ensures you will completely and thoroughly solve all puzzles. If you go it alone and end up glitching yourself out of this trophy, then I'm afraid you will need another console. No kidding.

Step 1 - Story Mode

Depending on what resources you choose to use for this playthrough, you may not need to do anything else. The supplemental guide will ensure you get everything you need in one full playthrough but if you prefer to get immersed in the gameplay, then just complete the game without necessarily using this Guide in terms of when and where each trophy is unlocked. If you do so and miss out on any missable trophies, then go on to Step 2.

Step 2 - Chapter Select - Sweep Up

So if you sacrificed a full trophy haul for a spoiler free playthrough, now is the time to go back and unlock any trophies you missed the first time around. View any of the trophy descriptions or hit up the Master Detective - Complete Walkthrough to take it from the top and blaze through the game following each instruction to ensure you pop the ones you need.

It's a fairly short game but a very enjoyable one if you don't spoil much of it for yourself so enjoy the game and good luck with the Platinum.

Bonus material consists of 4 things:

Concept Art
Artwork
3D Models

If you want to try and tackle each puzzle yourself, then here are each of them in order. My advice would be inspect everything around you and try to use items in your inventory, even combining them to see what you can do. I strongly recommend that you follow the Master Detective - Complete Walkthrough so you can avoid the glitch mentioned in the Road Map that will stop you getting this trophy and the .

The Raven

This will unlock once you have completed the game. Ratings, credits and everything else doesn't matter as you need to simply make it to the end of the game. Secret Trophies

Accurate Detective
You have analyzed the fingerprints on the window.

**Missable**

If you unlock each trophy in order, then this will be your first one. Very early in Chapter 1 whilst you are onboard the Orient Express, you can access the Saloon Car and approach the bar at the end of the carriage. By choosing the option to 'Look behind the bar' you are able to examine the radio which will then give you the option to turn it on, do so to unlock this trophy. Note that you can turn it off again if you wish.

Firebug
You have lit more than 4 matches.

**Missable**

When the explosion wrecks the train you can scope out the carriage after the cutscene. When you try to leave you will run into a gentleman who will chat to you and before leaving, will give you some matches. The supply is luckily endless. To strike a match, equip them in your inventory and you will light it. It will stay burning forever until you interact with something though so you will need to do this 4 times at least. If you happen to have any trouble at all then the steps below are taken from the Master Detective - Complete Walkthrough.

**Missable and Glitched**

Not only is this trophy missable but it is partially glitched in that there are roughly a dozen things to interact with in the room in various ways and orders but if you interact with either 'Under the bed' or the 'Vase' at any point before you've checked out the rest of the room, the trophy will not unlock. It won't even alert you to the fact if you accidentally do so but for some reason, interacting with either of these two will effectively conclude your investigation of the room though on the surface it will appear normal in every aspect until your trophy fails to pop.

The steps below are taken from the Master Detective - Complete Walkthrough, however, note that you can search the other items in the room in any order you wish just as long as you leave Under the Bed and the Vase for absolute last.

**SPECIAL NOTE**

You are about to complete an examination of the cabin where the murder took place and in the process, unlock a glitchy trophy. The trophy you will unlock upon completion is Crime Scene Investigator and it can be said that the internet is swarming with a bunch of theories and mini guides which often conflict with each other so below I give you a researched, tried and fully tested method to unlock this trophy and earn the bonus credits for the Master Detective one as well.

**Trophy Alert - History Fan**

Snooper
You have correctly guessed that the butler is the villain.  (2)

**Missable**

About midway through Chapter 2, you will open a secret chamber in the basement of the museum by solving a puzzle on the door. You will then ascend the stairs to find an attic where you are confronted by none other than ... The Raven!

Before you turn around to face them you get a dialogue choice of almost everyone you've met, to guess who you think it is. See below for the identity of the person you need.

Mr. Alfred Inch!

Good Boy
You have served coffee to the doctor.

**Missable**

During Chapter 2 you will obtain a disguise capable of giving you pretty good access to the Orient Express. As soon as you enter the Saloon Car however, Dr. Gebhardt will demand some refreshments such is the effectiveness of your disguise. It's pretty easy to work out how to pour him a coffee from behind the bar in the carriage but still, the steps below are taken from the Master Detective - Complete Walkthrough.

No sooner do you step inside the saloon car, than Dr. Gebhardt asks you about his missing bag and makes a couple of snide remarks about the service before demanding a coffee.

Interaction:
Examine the candy dish
Take a candy
Examine the coffee cup
Examine it again
Examine the spirits
And again
Go behind the bar
Examine the radio
Take the radio
Open the drawer
Equip the keychain*
Use the drawer with the keychain

Examine the coffee pot

Pour some coffee

You'll serve the coffee to the good Doctor who is about to launch into a tirade until you cut him short with some dry remarks back at him.

**Trophy Alert - Good Boy**

Know-it-all
You have found out all four animal symbols.

**Missable**

Not only is this trophy missable but there is also a missable step that is not connected to this trophy but if overlooked, will cost you a Master rating on completion of the chapter and cost you a different trophy. To ensure you don't suffer from this, ensure you speak to Adil before you go into the Baroness' cabin to solve the combination lock puzzle. The steps below are taken from the Master Detective - Complete Walkthrough.

A small cutscene plays out and you dive for cover under the bed. Once the intruder has left you will emerge again to survey what just went on.

Interaction:
Examine the bed
Examine the cupboard
Slide the chair under the opening
Leave the cabin

Now we need to identify the symbols. As you emerge from the ventilation shaft, head down into the ships interior to find Dr. Gebhardt standing tapping his toe impatiently. Speak to him

Dr. Gebhardt Dialogue:
Nefertiti
Guernica
AD
Buonarroti

Not a great deal of information exactly but one can understand when he's about to commit murder! Leave him be and 'Go downstairs'

Interaction:
Look at the magazines

And with that, you find that the symbol for Nefatiti is a Bear, turns out the info from Dr. Gebhardt wasn't as useless as it first came across. One clue down, three to go. Head back upstairs and into the saloon, Look at and then Talk to, Captain DiConti

Captain DiConti Dialogue:
Lady Westmacott
Family
Novels
Journey
Captain DiConti
Illnesses
Ship (Talk to him again once he has finished)
Guernica
Albrecht Durer
Buonarrouti's Adam

There's one more off the list, Buonarrouti is a Lion. Half way stage for this code cracking shenanigan. Have a Look at Baroness von Trebitz and another, before turning around and having another chat with Lady W.

Lady W. Dialogue:
Guernica
Albrecht Durer

Fat lot of good that was, typical Lady Westmacott patter. Leave the saloon and have a quick chat with Dr. Gebhardt, the only dialogue option is 'Captain' so ask him about the Captain feeling a little sick before you can go again. Once the conflab is over, return to your quarters to speak to Adil.

Adil Dialogue:
Man in the cabin
Secret compartment
Combination
Guernica
Alberto Durero

The ever fruitful Adil turns up with the third animal, AD is a Bear, the same as Nefertiti. You have 3 clues now and tell Adil you can guess the last one but don't do this, instead leave the cabin and head back into the saloon and speak to Lady W. again

Lady W. Dialogue:
Picasso
New York

Still as approachable as ever but this time she turns up a little info on the heraldic animal of New York, an Eagle she hazards a guess. Leave the saloon and pass by Dr. Gebhardt but Examine the poster behind him on the wall just once more to see a Beaver on the coat of arms. You have found out all four symbols for the combination, way to go!

**Trophy Alert - Know-It-All**

**Remember though, after the trophy has popped, head straight to your cabin and tell Adil you solved the riddle before you do anything else.**

Animal Lover
You have played with the dog three times.

**Missable**

In Chapter 3 you will need to find your own way into the Museum undetected and quietly. This requires you to go to the entrance of the museum where you will find a happy little sausage dog on the top step. Take your tennis ball from your inventory (from the van round the corner) and chuck it away for the dog to play fetch. repeat this 3 times for the trophy to pop.
