Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is the fourth game in the Shantae series. If you have played any of the other games in the series, you should know what to expect: colorful animations, lots of platforming, and an amazing soundtrack. In this game, Shantae can learn dances that allow her to take on various forms, such as a Monkey, Elephant, and Crab. Not only are these forms fun to play as, but they grant Shantae new abilities and give her access to places she would otherwise be unable to reach. In no time at all, you will be quickly switching through these forms as you travel across Sequin Land to thwart Risky Boots' latest scheme.

Veterans of the series looking for a challenge may be disappointed by this title, as the road to platinum is significantly easier than its predecessor, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse. Part of the reason for this is there are no boss challenges. There are other challenges to make up for this (e.g. completing certain sections of the game without getting hit), but they are not difficult, as Shantae's abilities are extremely overpowered. In fact, several of the trophies possess no challenge at all if you attempt them later in the game.

To obtain the platinum, you will probably want to play through the game twice*: a normal playthrough and a 100% speedrun. It should be noted there are actually two speedrun trophies: one for beating the game in under 3 hours (Speed Runner) and another for getting 100% in under 4 hours (Quick Collector). These time limits are extremely generous, so it is recommended to simply complete the game in under 3 hours at 100% to get both trophies in the same run. Refer to the Glitch Warning below before beginning the 100% playthrough.

*NOTE: It is possible to obtain the platinum in a single playthrough. This may spoil some of the enjoyment of the game, but you could potentially complete everything in under 4 hours if you manage your time carefully and use a detailed guide. An excellent walkthrough of how to do this was put together by optimusmart: LINK

GLITCH WARNING: The only known glitch right now is an issue in reaching 100%, which affects Half Genie-all Hero! and Quick Collector. This glitch is related to Tuki (see Not selling you snake oil.). In order to get to 100%, you must use all of Shantae's transformations on the same playthrough, including the two that can only be accessed by trading with Tuki: Gemjug (trade Warp Dance) and Blobfish (trade Obliterate). You can trade these spells with her as many times as you like, but the glitch occurs when you start a new game with either Gemjug or Blobfish in your inventory from the previous playthrough. If this happens, you may be unable to trade for Gemjug or Blobfish, as they won't show up in Tuki's inventory. This makes 100% impossible on that playthrough.

To prevent this from happening, make sure you do NOT have the Gemjug or the Blobfish transformation when you begin a new game on the same game file. Trade them back to Tuki for Warp Dance and Obliterate if you picked them up.

Read more about this glitch here: LINK

Step 1: Complete the game (any%)

During your first playthrough, you should just enjoy the game. You can work towards any of the trophies you want, but many will come naturally and several become much easier after you have unlocked all of Shantae’s abilities. In particular, the Magical Tiara will trivialize most of the game, as it grants you infinite magic (see Master of Unlocking for more information). The only missable trophy in this playthrough is Finders Keepers, so keep an eye out for that. Otherwise, just have fun. There is no reason to go for 100% on this playthrough, as you will be doing that in Step 2, but you can if you want.

NOTE: There is NOT a point of no return in this game. If you defeat the final boss, you can simply reload the save file and you will continue from your previous save. You should, however, refer to the Glitch Warning before beginning a new save file, as you could potentially lock yourself out of two trophies.

During this playthrough, you will receive:

Ret-2-Go!
A Magnetic Field
Don't call it that!
Vicious, Vile, and Vain
Mining for Minerals
A case of the olds!
Force of Darkness
Double Trouble
An act of foul play
Champion of Light
Shantae versus the Important Squid Baron
The final pieces...
Inventor's Assistant
Pummeled Pirate
Brain Basher
Guardian Genie

You may also receive:

Squish!
Back at ya!
Bone Breaker
Cooked!
Shocking Encounter!
Relic Seeker
Relic Collector
Relic Hunter
Fan Favorite
Key to my Heart
Master of Unlocking
Fully Formed
Investi-gator
Not selling you snake oil.
Jump jump slide slide
Race to the Top
In it to win it!
Magic Carpet Ride
The Spider Queen
Finders Keepers (missable)
The Swim Team
Queen of the Seven... Cheese?
The Great Escape

Step 1.5 (optional): Collect any trophies you did not get in Step 1 (excluding the speedrun trophies)

Now would be a good time to go back through the game and grab any miscellaneous trophies you might be missing. This is a completely optional clean-up step, and could just as easily be done during Step 2, but you may want to do it prior to Step 2 if you just want to focus on the speedrun then.

Step 2: Complete the game in under 3 hours (100% completion)

After you complete the game once, you will unlock Hero Mode, which allows you to play through the game again with the five primary transformations (Monkey, Crab, Elephant, Mouse, and Harpy) unlocked from the beginning of the game. This will greatly reduce the time spent on backtracking. The primary trophies you will be going for on this playthrough are: Half-Genie, all Hero! (100% completion), Speed Runner (beat the game in under 3 hours), and Quick Collector (100% completion in under 4 hours). None of these are particularly difficult, which is why it is recommended to go for all of them at once. See the tips under Speed Runner and Quick Collector for more information.

During this playthrough, you will receive:

Half-Genie, all Hero!
Quick Collector
Speed Runner
Sequin Land Hero

Pirate Queen’s Quest is the first set of DLC for Shantae Half-Genie Hero. It is a retelling of the story of Half-Genie Hero, but this time from the perspective of franchise antagonist Risky Boots. You control Risky Boots as you collect components for her Dynamo machine and ultimately face your foe in a final battle.

If you ever played Shantae Pirate’s Curse then Risky Boot’s play style won’t come off as much of a surprise. You can collect health items you can use from the main menu to recover life if you’re ever in a jam. You will collect collectibles, unlock unlockables and face the clock to earn all of the trophies needed to finish the DLC. But if you managed to Shantae, this DLC set is really not that difficult.

From here, you can get your pervert on by watching Risky Boots bathe non-stop before traveling to a new location. You can also ask a Tinkerbat for tips on what you should do next as well as save.

Dark Magic
Scattered throughout the DLC is Dark Magic. Finding these will give you an upgrade point you can apply to your equipment in any way you wish which will come in handy later in the game.

Character Change

Unlike the last DLC, this time you have three characters you can play as: Sky, Bolo and Rottytops. You can control one character at a time and you must make proper use of every one to traverse the game and reach the end. Each character has their own strengths and specific puzzles that can be defeated. Each character shares a life bar but they all have unique magic and gem totals.

Each character can be swapped in the order of Bolo -> Rottytops-> Sky using and Bolo -> Sky -> Rottytops using . Note you can only change characters on the ground, not in the air and not when holding onto a ring.

Bolo is the standard fighter. He can break large purple blocks and can use his bear claw to grapple and swing on grapple points. He also has a magic spike ball he can throw that bounces off walls. As he levels up with gem’s his attacks become stronger and faster as well.

Rottytops attack is the strongest but also pretty slow. It will speed up as you gain gems. The rest of her usefulness comes in that you can take her head, throw it and pop up in another location along a projected angle, but also does damage if it hits an enemy. This is very useful in your speed run because instead of fighting some enemies, you can use Rottytops head throw to just bypass them altogether. She can also consume magic to eat a brain and refill the life bar.

Sky is the least powerful character but has the most traversal options. She can glide over large pitfalls and also can throw an egg to create a floating bird platform (which will disappear quickly). Her attacks are weak but they do have the ability to attack over distance. If you can level her up with gems she can throw more birds at a time and at a faster rate, which makes her offensive game much more formidable.

Gems

Be sure to collect gems as you progress, taking care not to get hit. Gems will increase the power of your attacks, making Bolo, Rottytops and Sky more deadly. However, every time you get hit you lose gems. You can collect the gems that fall off of you after you're hit, but you will not get enough to make up for the loss you took. The maximum gem’s that they can carry is 150, which levels up the character to level 4.

Note that each character has their own gem count, so if you focus solely on one character, the others will not level up. Gem count will also carry over to the next stage and is saved.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the DLC for the first time

For your first venture into Friend's to the End, just take your time and enjoy yourself. Learn the game, how each character plays and where the Dream Squids are. This will come in handy for your next playthrough. Also get all of the character specific trophies for performing certain tasks.

On completion of this step, you should have earned the following:

Deja vu?
Learn to Fly
That's using your head!
Half-Wit Hero
Kid Squids
Friends to the End

Step 2: Get all the Win Screens

Now, for your next challenge, start a new game and go for the win screens, which requires a speed run of no more than 1 hour and 20 minutes and a perfect run of 1 hour and 45 minutes with 100% completion.

On completion of this step, you should have earned the following:

True Friends!

[PST Would Like To Thank shrapx for this Roadmap]

Costume Pack DLC:

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 7/10 (Personal opinion)
  • Offline trophies: 10 (7, 3)
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to completion: 3-6hrs, bare minimum (Personal opinion)
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 3
  • Number of missable trophies: 3
  • Glitched trophies: 0
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: No
  • Do trophies stack?: Yes, the PS4 and Vita versions have separate lists
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheats available.
  • Additional peripherals required?: No

Introduction:

The Costume pack is three alternative stories where Shantae gets to play dress up. In Officer Mode, Shantae is an intergalactic patrol officer in an homage to Mighty Switch Force. In Beach Mode, Shantae is on a quest to find the greatest beach in all the land. In Ninja Mode, she wants to master the art of the Ninja.

Each mode has their own collectibles and clear time requirements as part of this list. You also only have 3 hearts of life, which cannot be upgraded, so these modes are tailor made for gamers who excel at classic platforming games.

Resources

- GameFAQs

Officer Shantae Controls

Pellet gun
/ Block Toggle
Jump
Options and Stage Select

Officer Shantae's attacks are weak but can be rapid fired. It can also be powered up with gems to fire a spread shot which is useful. Officer Mode is centered on using switch puzzles to navigate areas effectively. If you're not careful with your timing, however, the switches can knock Shantae off screen making you restart from your last checkpoint.

Of particular note is that Officer Shantae cannot swim i.e. if you fall in water, you will die. She also cannot duck or crawl in this mode.

Ninja Shantae Controls

Sword Attack
Teleport. Directional to aim it.
/ Magic attack – Throw Shuriken
Back dash
Jump
Duck
Options and Stage Select

Ninja Shantae is way fast, which sounds like fun but makes it real easy to get hit. Her teleport feature is also a good idea, in theory. More often than not it’s difficult to aim the thing and go where you want it to. Ninja Shantae also has the ability to cling to walls and do a mini wall jump, barely climbing a little at a time but climbing none the less.

Beach Shantae Controls

Hair attack
Personal Bubble
/ Magic attack - Beach Ball throw
Jump
Duck
Options and Stage Select

Beach Shantae has a dangerous aversion to sunlight. Every twenty seconds or so you have to either collect sunscreen or enter water to reset the sun dial. If the sun dial maxes out, you will rapidly lose health and ultimately die. This requires very precise game play and clever use of the personal bubble to bypass enemies and get to the ever necessary sunscreen.

The bubble lets Shantae float around, rising as she moves. Note that collisions with any wall or enemy will break the bubble and Shantae cannot attack when inside it.

Boss battles are especially tricky, in that you have to damage them rapidly in order for them to drop sunscreen you can use. Giga Mermaid and the Dual Barons are of particular concern here. Ammo Baron will be very generous with drops, as will Risky Boots. Wilbur is a little bit in between.

Gems

Be sure to collect gems as you progress, taking care not to get hit. Gems will increase the power of your attacks, making Shantae more deadly. However, every time you get hit you lose gems. You can collect the gems that fall off of you after you're hit but you will not get enough to make up for the loss you took. The maximum gem’s that Shantae can carry is 150, which levels up the character to level 4.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Complete Officer Mode for the first time
Start out with the easiest of the three new modes, Officer Mode and just take your time and enjoy yourself. Learn the game, how Officer Shantae plays and where the Space Hooligans are. This will come in handy for your next playthrough. Also get the mode specific trophy that goes along with it. If you want to save time, combine as much of the Speed Run and 100% completion you can. Whatever Win Screens you do not get you can earn in a follow up run.

On completion of this step, you should have earned the following:

Switch it up!
Clear out!

Step 2: Get all the Win Screens for Officer Mode

Now, restart Officer Mode and get all the Win Screens, which requires a speed run of no more than 50 minutes and a perfect run of 1 hour with 100% completion.

On completion of this step, you should have earned the following:

Mission Complete!

Step 3: Complete Ninja Mode for the first time

Now on to the mode that’s the strictest when it comes to completion time. Play Ninja Mode and just take your time and enjoy yourself. Learn the game, how Ninja Shantae plays and where the Dream Squids are. This will come in handy for your next playthrough. Also get the mode specific trophy that goes along with it. If you want to save time, combine as much of the Speed Run and 100% completion you can. Whatever Win Screens you do not get you can earn in a follow up run.

On completion of this step, you should have earned the following:

Ninja vanish!
Shinobi Shantae!

Step 4: Get all the Win Screens for Ninja Mode

Now, restart Ninja Mode and get all the Win Screens, which requires a speed run of no more than 45 minutes and a perfect run of 1 hour with 100% completion.

On completion of this step, you should have earned the following:

Revenge of Shantae!

Step 5: Complete Beach Mode for the first time

Next on to the most demanding of the three costume packs, Beach Mode. Just take your time and enjoy yourself (if you can). Learn the game, how Beach Shantae plays and where the Dream Squids are. This will come in handy for your next playthrough. Also get the mode specific trophy that goes along with it. If you want to save time, combine as much of the Speed Run and 100% completion you can. Whatever Win Screens you do not get you can earn in a follow up run.

On completion of this step, you should have earned the following:

Costume Party!
SPF 250
Fun in the sun!

Step 6: Get all the Win Screens for Beach Mode

Now, restart Beach Mode and get all the Win Screens, which requires a speed run of no more than 1 hour and a perfect run of 1 hour and 10 minutes with 100% completion.

On completion of this step, you should have earned the following:

The perfect tan!

[PST Would Like To Thank shrapx for this Roadmap]

Sequin Land Hero
Unlock all Trophies for 'Shantae: Half-Genie Hero'.

Obtain all of the other trophies to earn this shiny platinum. You’re a (half) genie in a bottle, baby!

Ret-2-Go!
Start your day fresh!

Story-related and cannot be missed.

This will be the first trophy you unlock in the game. It will pop after speaking to the spirit in the basement of Uncle Mimic’s Workshop.

Investi-gator
Avoid detection from all the Techno Grunts.

This trophy is referring to the second area of Mermaid Falls (the factory). Techno Grunts are the gators that wear a hardhat, goggles, and suspenders. There are several of them in the level and each of them patrols a small area. They have bad eyesight and will only attack if they see you, which is indicated by an exclamation mark over their head. In order to get this trophy, you must sneak all the way through the factory without being detected by a single Techno Grunt. This is technically doable without any transformations, but it is not recommended. Instead, wait until you have the Harpy transformation and simply fly through the factory. This will allow you to avoid most of the Techno Grunts (see video below for a good route to take; credit to the video creator).

Jump jump slide slide
Leap over every canister as you slide down the chute.

This trophy is referring to the third area of Mermaid Falls, where you are sliding down a conveyor belt. There are two obstacles you have to avoid: canisters and gaps in the conveyor belt. Hitting a canister will damage you (and negate this trophy), while falling into a gap will send you back to the top of the conveyor belt. In order to get this trophy, you must avoid hitting any canisters. This can be tricky, as the speed of the canisters changes and you will sometimes need to clear multiple canisters with a single well-timed jump. If you mess up and hit a canister, simply fall into one of the gaps so you can restart.

To make this trophy laughably easy, wait until you have the Magical Tiara (see Master of Unlocking) and use either the Tier 3 Fireball (Flamethrower) or the Tier 3 Storm Puff (Super Mega Puff). Both of these will allow you to float in midair indefinitely, completely bypassing every obstacle on the stage.

Race to the Top
Climb Tassel Tower at record speed.

Tassel Tower is found at the end of the first area of Tassel Town. You will enter the tower from the bottom and must reach the top in under two minutes, although it is unclear exactly when the timer begins. This is NOT missable because you can always return to the tower later and try again. This is certainly doable the first time you reach Tassel Tower (using the Monkey transformation), but it is much easier once you have obtained the Harpy transformation (see Fully Formed). You may want to practice climbing the tower a few times so you can memorize the best route.

In it to win it!
Eliminate the competition.

This trophy is referring to the magic carpet race at the beginning of Cape Crustacean. You must defeat every competitor by knocking them off their carpet as you work your way towards the front of the race. This can be done by whipping the other competitors with your hair, but there is an easier way: simply wait until you have the Magical Tiara (see Master of Unlocking) and use the Tier 3 Spiked Ball (Scimitar). The swords will do most of the work for you, so you can just focus on platforming.

Magic Carpet Ride
Reach the end of the race without falling off your carpet!

This trophy is referring to the magic carpet race at the beginning of Cape Crustacean. During the race, you will be required to hop from platform to platform as the screen scrolls to the right. You can ignore the other competitors, as they will not hurt you (but defeating them all is required for Magic Carpet Ride). The screen scrolls faster towards the end of the race. While you can get this trophy legitimately with a little practice, there is a much easier way: wait until you have the Harpy transformation and simply fly over the stage.

Inventor's Assistant
Finish building the Dynamo.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will obtain this trophy after giving Uncle Mimic the Zombie Hamster and Iron Slab (see The final pieces...).

The Swim Team
Gather up as many friends as possible for a swim!

This trophy is referring to the underwater section of Risky’s Hideout. There are three starfish on this stage that must be freed by shooting the blocks surrounding them. The first is near the top of the stage, the second is near the bottom, and the third is in the middle. Each starfish you free will follow behind you and shoot bubbles to help clear out obstacles. Simply free all three starfish to obtain this trophy.

The Great Escape
Avoid all the gears during the escape slide. (3)

This trophy is referring to the conveyor belt escape at the end of the game (see Pummeled Pirate). Similar to Jump jump slide slide, you are required to jump over several obstacles without getting hit. Doing this legitimately can be tough, so wait until you have the Magical Tiara (see Master of Unlocking) and use either the Tier 3 Fireball (Flamethrower) or the Tier 3 Storm Puff (Super Mega Puff) to simply float over all of the gears.

NOTE: If you get hit by a gear, you will need to quit the stage and defeat the final boss again in order to get another chance at this trophy. You cannot simply die and try again.

Guardian Genie
Beat the game.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

Simply complete the game once to obtain this trophy.

Half-Genie, all Hero!
Achieve 100% completion!

See Quick Collector.

Glitch Warning: This trophy is potentially glitched if you are on your second playthrough. To prevent this glitch from taking place, make sure you do NOT have the Gemjug or Blobfish transformation in your inventory upon completing the game for the first time or beginning a new game. Trade them back to Tuki if you picked them up. See this thread for more information: LINK

Fully Formed
Obtain all magic forms!

Transformations allow Shantae to take on the form of another creature, and you will need to obtain all eleven of them for this trophy. Some will be found through normal story progression, while others have to be sought out or purchased. The transformations are:

  1. Monkey. Clear Main Street.
  2. Crab. Clear Mermaid Falls.
  3. Elephant. Clear Tassel Town.
  4. Mouse. Clear Cape Crustacean.
  5. Harpy. Clear Hypno Baron’s Castle.
  6. Bat (requires Monkey Bullet). Found in Mermaid Falls. Head to the second area of the factory, climb to the upper left corner, and enter the portal.
  7. Mermaid (requires Elephant). Found in Mermaid Falls. Head to the second area of the factory, smash through the block on the upper right side, and enter the portal.
  8. Spider (requires Elephant). Found in the first area of Tassel Town. The portal is almost impossible to miss, but you will need the Elephant to get by the wind.
  9. Dryad Dance. Purchase from Tuki (see Not selling you snake oil.) for 100 gems. Used to produce oranges.
  10. Gemjug Dance. Trade the Warp Dance to Tuki. Used to produce gems.
  11. Blobfish Dance. Trade the Obliterate Dance to Tuki. Used to…bounce?
Relic Seeker
Obtain any magic relic.

See Relic Collector.

Relic Hunter
Obtain half of the magic relics.

See Relic Collector.

Relic Collector
Obtain all magic relics!

Magic relics give Shantae new or more powerful abilities. Some of them can be purchased from the Item Shop in Scuttle Town, while others have to be found. To obtain this trophy, you will need all of the following abilities (and their upgrades):

Master of Unlocking
Unlock all the doors in the Art Gallery.

You can access the Art Gallery at any time by entering the far right building in Scuttle Town. You will need to find ten keys in order to unlock all of the doors in the Art Gallery and obtain this trophy. These keys are hidden throughout the world, but you will not be able to get most of them on your first run through each level, as they require abilities you will find later on. You can see how many keys you have found in each stage by visiting the overworld screen.

Once you have unlocked all 10 doors, speak to Mayor Scuttlebutt in the Art Gallery to receive the Magical Tiara, which gives you unlimited magic. Welcome to the game's easy mode!

The chests containing the keys can be found in the following locations:

Mermaid Falls

  • 1/10 - Second screen of the first area (requires Mermaid). Jump into the water, swim all the way to the right, and jump out.
  • 2/10 - Second screen of the first area (requires Mouse and Bat). Go the upper left, where you will see a small platform. Transform into a Bat while standing on this platform and fly to the right. Destroy the purple blocks and enter the maze as a Mouse. Follow the maze around until you come to a chest.
  • 3/10 - Second screen of the factory (requires Elephant Stomp). The chest is on the far right, but on the second floor. You will need to climb or fly to reach it and then destroy the block.

Tassel Town

  • 4/10 - Halfway up Tassel Tower (requires Mouse). The chest is easily visible on the way up the tower, but you need to enter the maze as a Mouse to reach it.
  • 5/10 - Halfway up Tassel Tower (requires Elephant). Just past the previous key, you will see three chains and a gray block on the far right. Use the Elephant to push the block and find the chest on the other side.
  • 6/10 - Near the end Tassel Tower (requires Elephant and Mouse). You will eventually come across a lone block sitting on a platform. There are snakes and a bird that drops cactus enemies nearby. You need to push the block in a specific way: left twice, right once, left again, and then right. After this, stand on the block and use the Elephant midair dash to break through the block on the left. These blocks also need to be moved in a specific way. Use the Elephant to push the bottom block all the way to the right, followed by the right, top, and left blocks. Each of these needs to be pushed down and then all the way to the right. This will create a maze that you will then need to navigate as a Mouse.
  • 7/10 - First screen after Tassel Tower (requires Bat). You will see the chest on a platform below you as pass through the area. To reach it, you will need to stand on the lower platform on the other side, transform into a Bat, and fly left.

Cape Crustacean

  • 8/10 - Atop the airships (requires Elephant Stomp). The second airship you jump on will have a floor you can drop through. Enter the doorway on the left and stomp the blocks to reach the chest.
  • 9/10 - Atop the airships (requires Monkey). On the next airship that has a floor you can pass through (you will need to do this to pass by the laser), enter the doorway on the left and use the Monkey to reach the chest on the upper platform.
  • 10/10 - Third screen inside the airship (requires Waterfall). Drop through the platform past the lasers and head right. Turn into a Mermaid to reach the waterfalls on the right. From here, you must pass through the waterfalls in a specific sequence to reach the chest: first, second, fifth, and fourth (counting from left to right).

Not selling you snake oil.
Make a deal with a sneaky, snakey seller of magical secrets.

The sneaky, snakey seller of magical secrets is Tuki, a devious Naga that resides inside a pot. You can find her pot in three locations in the game: Mermaid Falls (at the end of the factory), Tassel Town (third area), and Hypno Baron’s Castle (third screen of the second area). Simply whip the pot to make her appear. Tuki has several unique items for sale or trade, but you only need to make a single transaction to get this trophy.

The Spider Queen
Defeat a Bonelegs enemy as a Spider.

Bonelegs is a spiderlike enemy that only appears in Hypno Baron’s Castle (second area). You will need to kill a Bonelegs while in the Spider transformation, which means you will need the Spider Venom attack (see Relic Collector). Even with this, it is difficult to hit a Bonelegs because they tend to block most attacks. The best approach seems to be to attack once, wait a moment for the Bonelegs to lower her guard, and then attack again. If done correctly, the second shot will be successful. It may take a while to get the timing down and it will take several hits to kill the Bonelegs.

Squish!
Crush an enemy with a block.

To obtain this trophy, you must cause a block to fall onto an enemy. Simply pushing the block into an enemy will not work. This can be obtained in a few locations, but there is an easy spot in Tassel Town. As you are making your way towards the tower, you will come across a block on a floating platform and a cactus enemy on the ground. Stand on the upper platform and push the block forward so that it falls onto the cactus enemy and crushes him. If you miss, there is also a block about halfway up Tassel Tower and an endless amount of snakes that pop out of a vase on the platform below.

Back at ya!
Reflect 5 attacks back at an enemy with the Mirror.

The Mirror is the Tier 2 Bubble ability. As the description states, it allows you to reflect attacks. This will work on many enemies in the game, but you can easily farm this on the cactus enemies in Tassel Town. Simply reflect back their needles five times and this trophy is yours.

Bone Breaker
Smash 10 skeletons with the Elephant.

Skeletons are found in Hypno Baron’s Castle. You will need the Elephant Stomp ability in order to smash them (see Relic Collector). They have a decent amount of health, so you will need to use Elephant Stomp twice or weaken the skeletons first if you want to avoid taking damage. Kill 10 skeletons with Elephant Stomp to unlock this trophy.

Cooked!
Defeat 10 enemies using a Fireball.

You can purchase Fireball from the Item Shop in Scuttle Town for 25 gems. Simply kill any 10 enemies in the game using any tier of Fireball to unlock this trophy.

Shocking Encounter!
Defeat 20 enemies with Lightning.

You can purchase Storm Puff (Lightning) from the Item Shop in Scuttle Town for 40 gems. Simply kill any 10 enemies in the game using any tier of Storm Puff to unlock this trophy.

Speed Runner
Saved the day as fast as possible!  (2)

Missable!

In order to get this trophy, you must finish the game in under 3 hours. There has been some discrepancy about the exact time, with the developers saying it was originally intended to be 2 hours (at least for PC), but this thread seems to confirm the 3 hour time limit: LINK

In either case, the time limit is very generous and this should not be difficult if you attempt it on Hero Mode, which is unlocked after completing the game once. In Hero Mode, you will have access to the five primary transformations (Monkey, Crab, Elephant, Mouse, and Harpy) from the start of the game. It is recommended that you use the Monkey and Harpy transformation often, as they are both faster than Shantae and will save you time. Don't forget you can skip dialogue by pressing and pausing the game will also pause the timer.

See Quick Collector for more tips.

Quick Collector
Achieve 100% completion as fast as possible!  (3)

Missable!

To obtain this trophy, you need to reach 100% completion in under 4 hours. You might as well do this at the same time as Speed Runner, as neither speedrun is particularly difficult. You will also receive Half-Genie, all Hero! upon reaching 100%.

In order to reach 100%, you need all of the magic relics (Relic Collector), transformations* (see Fully Formed), keys (see Master of Unlocking), and items (see Finders Keepers). You will also need to defeat all of the bosses, including Risky Boots and Tinkerbrain. You should wait until you have unlocked Hero Mode by completing the game once before attempting this trophy. Here is an excellent guide on how to complete the game quickly with minimal backtracking: LINK

*NOTE: You must use every transformation at least once for it to count towards the 100%. The most commonly missed transformations are the three you obtain from Tuki: Dryad Dance, Gemjug Dance, and Blobfish Dance. Make sure you use each of these forms at least once after purchasing them from Tuki, or else you will have to return to her and trade for them again.

Secret Trophies

Don't call it that!
Defeat P.O.O.P. T.O.O.T.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

This is the first boss in the game, found at the end of Main Street. You need to ring the bell on the left side of the screen in order to make an explosive barrel appear on the platform above. Use the chains to reach the platform and then whip the barrel towards P.O.O.P. T.O.O.T to temporarily stun him. Jump down and whip him until he recovers. Repeat the process until he is defeated. There is a slight delay between when P.O.O.P. T.O.O.T recovers and when you are able to ring the bell to make another explosive barrel appear.

During the fight, P.O.O.P. T.O.O.T will launch cannonballs at you that can easily be avoided. Some of these, however, will be on fire and will leave behind a small flame that lingers for a few seconds. Risky may also try to attack from the crow’s nest. She will raise her pistol and fire three bullets at once. These bullets are tiny and spread in an arc. To avoid getting hit, stay to the left side of the screen at all times and be careful when climbing the chains. You may need to adjust your position or jump to a different chain to dodge the cannonballs and bullets.

Vicious, Vile, and Vain
Free the missing maidens!

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will obtain this trophy by defeating the second boss in the game (Giga Mermaid), found at the end of Mermaid Falls. This is a two stage fight.

During the first phase, there will be six locks that you must destroy. It will take several hair whips to break each lock, and you will need to use the moving platforms on either side of the screen to reach the upper locks. There are three attacks to watch out for:

  • Gigantic lightning orb. This will track your movements, but it moves slowly. Lure it to one side of the screen, go over/under it, and run to the other side.
  • Three small lightning orbs. Similar to the gigantic lightning orb, but much quicker. Keep moving to avoid being cornered.
  • Lightning beam. This attack starts on one side of the screen and moves to the other. Quickly get to the top of the opposite side when you see it coming.

Once all six locks are broken, the second phase of the fight begins. You will need to hit the red jewel on Giga Mermaid’s head in order to defeat her, but it can only be reached by climbing onto the platforms/hooks that occasionally appear. Again, there are three attacks to watch out for:

  • Lightning bolts. You will know this is coming when you see crosshairs appear on the bridge. The order in which the crosshairs appear is also the order in which the lightning will strike, so plan your movements accordingly.
  • Tail smack. Her tail will move back and forth across the stage and then stop momentarily before smacking the ground. Make sure you are not under it when this happens.
  • Gem beam. The gem on her head will glow for a few seconds and then fire a powerful beam wherever you are standing. Keep moving before she fires the beam to avoid being hit.

This isn’t exactly an attack, but you can also take damage if you stand too close to the edge (the grassy areas) when Giga Mermaid appears on that side. Keep to the middle of the screen whenever possible and wait for the platforms to appear. You will only be able to whip the gem on her head once (twice if you are quick) each time the platforms appear, but it doesn’t take too many hits to defeat her.

A case of the olds!
Discover the history of Tassel Town's brightest star.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will obtain this trophy by defeating the third boss in the game (Wilbur), found at the end of Tassel Town. This is not a difficult boss. Simply do the following:

  1. Run clockwise or counterclockwise around the circular platform to avoid Wilbur’s eye attack. After a few shots, he will duck into the hole.
  2. Avoid the falling boulders (use the shadows to tell where they are falling).
  3. Run to the molten boulder that is left behind and whip it. The boulder will land in a cannon, which will be fired at Wilbur.
  4. Wilbur’s eyeball will land on the stage and begin rolling. Whip it (or use a Fireball) to cause it to change direction and speed up. Quickly turn the other way and do the same thing. Keep doing this until the eyeball drops back into the hole.
  5. Repeat three more times.
Double Trouble
Sometimes two are better than one... but not this time!

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will obtain this trophy by defeating the fourth boss in the game (Twitch and Vinegar), found at the end of the first area of Cape Crustacean. The challenge to this fight is there is no solid ground to stand on. Instead, you will have to make do with three carpets that rotate in a small circle on the left side of the screen, while Twitch and Vinegar attack you from the right. You will need to maneuver around these carpets to avoid taking damage. The boss will rotate through three “phases”:

  1. Vinegar only. Vinegar is in the long ship and she will fire a steady stream of orbs from the top, bottom, and middle of the screen. The order in which she does this is random. If you have the Mirror, you can reflect her attack back for massive damage. Otherwise, move to the carpet that is furthest away from her attack.
  2. Twitch only. Twitch is in the smaller ship and will throw bombs at random. Be careful attacking her, as there is no telling how far she will launch each bomb.
  3. Twitch and Vinegar. After they each get a turn to attack, Twitch and Vinegar will combine their ship and fire a laser at the bottom of the screen. Stay near the top, as they will raise the beam towards the middle. Next, they will fire a laser at the top of the screen. Move to the bottom and stay there, as they will lower the beam towards the middle.

They will continue rotating through these phases until both Twitch and Vinegar are defeated. Dodge their attacks, strike back when you see an opening (in between phases is a good time, as Twitch and Vinegar will simply move in a circle without attacking), and watch your footing. You may find the Pike Ball and its upgrades very useful here.

An act of foul play
Foil the heist in Cape Crustacean.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will obtain this trophy by defeating the fifth boss in the game (Ammo Baron), found at the end of Cape Crustacean. At the start of the fight, Ammo Baron will be floating in midair and he will surround himself with smaller minions. You will need to attack the minions in order to reach Ammo Baron. During the fight, Ammo Baron will fly around the screen and the minions will rotate around him, so just keep killing the minions to give yourself room to attack. You will want to do this anyway, as Ammo Baron will occasionally raise his hand and one of the minions on that side of him will fly at you. Any minions you kill will be replaced after a short time.

After taking enough damage, Ammo Baron will double the layer of minions surrounding him, but the strategy remains the same. Keep your distance and work towards creating an opening. When he raises his hand, three minions will fly at you instead of one. He will eventually triple the layer, which gives you very little room to avoid getting hit. When he does this, he will no longer raise his hand to signal an attack, but he can launch many enemies in any direction.

Most of the damage you receive in this battle will likely come from making contact with Ammo Baron or his minions as they move around. He only has two attacks: sending his minions after you (explained above) and calling in an air strike. During the air strike, a target will appear on the screen and minions will begin swooping down from the sky towards the target. The target will appear wherever you are standing and it will change positions in mid-strike, so keep moving to avoid getting hit.

As with most boss battles, the Pike Ball and its upgrades are highly recommended.

Shantae versus the Important Squid Baron
It'd sell like buns.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will obtain this trophy by defeating the sixth boss in the game (Squid Baron), found at the end of Hypno Baron’s Castle. There are two phases to this fight.

During the first phase, you will face Squid Baron only. He will cycle through the following attacks:

  1. Floor slide. He will begin the battle by sliding to the left, hitting the wall, and then bouncing off in the opposite direction. This will repeat several times. You will need to jump over him (or cling to the wall as a Monkey) to avoid taking damage.
  2. Magic attack (airborne). He will move left and right across the screen, stopping briefly to shoot a magic attack towards the ground. He does this in a predictable pattern, so just avoid standing under him.
  3. Tantrum. He will hop up and down in place a few times and then perform a big jump, which will send out a shockwave. He will do this several times.

The best time to attack the Squid Baron is during the tantrum, whenever he is not doing the big jump, but you can damage him at any time. After you do enough damage, Hypno Baron will join in and the second phase of the fight begins. The second phase always begins with Hypno Baron picking up Squid Baron, moving somewhere on the top of the screen, and then slamming Squid Baron to the ground a few times. After this, Squid Baron will stay in the corner of the room while Hypno Baron flies around and lobs green balls at you. These balls explode into a pillar of fire that lingers for a short time, so stay away. Meanwhile, Squid Baron will jump from one corner of the room to the other, sending out a shockwave each time. You can attack either of them during this phase, but Squid Baron is a little easier.

After a while, they will switch positions, with Hypno Baron waiting patiently in a corner of the room while Squid Baron leaps into the air and slams into the ground in random locations. As usual, a shockwave is produced (on both sides of him) every time he does this. Hypno Baron will eventually move towards the ceiling and shoot an arc of green orbs at you. These will make a small explosion upon hitting the ground.

When either Squid Baron or Hypno Baron is defeated, the other will begin repeating one of his attacks at a much faster rate. For Squid Baron, this is the shockwave. For Hypno Baron, it is the green balls. In either case, keep attacking until both are defeated.

Pummeled Pirate
Thwarted the Queen of the Seven Seas.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will obtain this trophy by defeating the seventh boss in the game (Risky Boots), found at the end of Risky’s Hideout. She follows a (mostly) predictable cycle:

  1. Hops around three times and then runs to the right side of the screen.
  2. Fires one shot to the left and then three shots that spread in an arc. You can duck under the first shot, but the second attack will hit you if you are too close.
  3. Raises her scimitar and pauses for a moment before quickly dashing to the other side of the screen. She does this three times.
  4. Hops around three times and then runs to the left side of the screen.
  5. Leaps into the air and fires three orbs that spread in an arc at a downward angle.
  6. May also hop around some more or fire her pistol.
  7. Leaps into the air and bounces across the screen on her cannon, firing cannonballs towards the ground.
  8. Crashes down on an anchor twice. Use the shadow on the floor to tell where she is landing.
  9. Swings around on the anchor in midair and sends a few waves of Tinkerbats to fight you. She will also toss bombs at random. It is very easy to take damage here, so ignore Risky and focus on killing the Tinkerbats and dodging the bombs.

As always, the Pike Ball and its upgrade are highly recommended. Still not good enough? If you have the Magical Tiara (see Master of Unlocking), you can simply use Invincibility the whole time to make this fight trivial. Killing Risky as a Mouse (killing blow only; you do not need to do all damage to Risky as the Mouse) will net you Queen of the Seven... Cheese?, but you can always return later to face her again.

Brain Basher
Put a stop to the mechanized madness!

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will obtain this trophy by defeating the eighth and final boss in the game (Tinkerbrain), found at the end of Risky’s Hideout. You will face him immediately upon defeating Risky Boots. There are two phases to this fight.

During the first phase, you will be on a circular platform, similar to the one you fought Wilbur on (see A case of the olds!). You need to run in either direction to loosen the screws in Tinkerbrain’s head. This will help you to avoid his laser attack, but he will also toss gears at you. These gears will bounce across the stage and you may need to stop running momentarily to avoid hitting them. When you have successfully ran enough in one direction (pay attention to the color of the screws, as the lines on them will turn green when they are loosening), five conduits will appear. Whip them repeatedly until they begin to glow. You will only be able to get two (three if you are really quick) before they drop back down, so keep doing this until all five conduits are lit. Be careful, though, as lit conduits that are adjacent to each other can shoot out electricity between them. Once one screw has been removed, run in the opposite direction to loosen the other screw.

The second phase takes place on the same stage. Now, however, there is a red shield surrounding Tinkerbrain and four Dark Genies. The Dark Genies have two attacks: they will shoot orbs towards the ground (often many at a time) and they will send a shockwave across the stage (may be cancelled out by another shockwave). They are also shielded. You will need to keep running around the stage until one of the genies removes its shield. A simple hair whip will cause the genie to vanish and an orb to appear in its place. Now comes the tricky part. There is a small gap in the shield that rotates around Tinkerbrain. You must jump and whip the orb so that it flies through that opening and hits Tinkerbrain. It may take a few tries to get the timing down, as the perspective is a little weird. If the hit is successful, the shield will begin rotating much faster, but it will eventually slow down. Simply keep doing this until Tinkerbrain is defeated. It will take ten hits.

If you are having trouble, the Magical Tiara (see Master of Unlocking) and Invincibility make this fight trivial.

A Magnetic Field
Obtained the Magnet

Story-related and cannot be missed.

At the beginning of the game, Uncle Mimic will ask you to find Bolo because he was supposed to pick something up and never returned. To obtain the Magnet:

  1. Go to the Bath House and speak to Bolo.
  2. Talk to the woman in the Bath House to receive the Sale Slip.
  3. Go to the Item Shop and give the man the Sale Slip in exchange for the Magnet.
Mining for Minerals
Obtained Copper Ore

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You can only do this after clearing Main Street for the first time. To obtain the Copper Ore:

  1. Head to the second area of Main Street and use the Monkey transformation to talk to the girl in the upper left. She will ask you to defeat 30 Tinkerbats in her restaurant.
  2. Go the restaurant (head to the right, go down the stairs, and look for the room with three large windows). You will know you are in the right place because a counter will appear.
  3. Defeat 30 Tinkerbats to obtain the Health Permit.
  4. Return to the girl to obtain the Salted Caramel.
  5. Head to Sky’s Hatchery in Scuttle Town. Give the woman in here the Salted Caramel in exchange for Bird Seed.
  6. Go to the Item Shop and give the man in here the Bird Seed in exchange for the Copper Ore.
Force of Darkness
Obtained the Dark Shard

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will need to give two Race Tickets to Rottytops in Scuttle Town to obtain the Dark Shard. The first Race Ticket is given to you by Grandma Blobfish in Mermaid Falls in exchange for finding her five grandkids (see Relic Collector). You will need to get Crab Claw from Grandma Blobfish and search the water in the first two screens of the factory in order to find all five grandkids. The second Race Ticket is given to you by Twitch and Vinegar in Scuttle Town in exchange for two Gator Steaks. You can find Gator Steaks by killing Techno Grunts (see Investi-gator). The drop rate is 100% if the Techno Grunt is killed by a Fireball or any of its upgrades.

Champion of Light
Obtained the Light Shard

Story-related and cannot be missed.

You can only begin this quest after clearing Tassel Town for the first time. The Mouse transformation is required to finish it. To obtain the Light Shard:

  1. Return to Tassel Tower and speak to the man in the bottom of the tower. He will give you Elephant Stomp.
  2. Locate five flowers in Tassel Tower. These are in hidden locations and require smashing through walls as an Elephant. Start at the bottom of the tower and work your way to the top, looking for any breakable walls on either side of the screen. Not all the walls will be at ground level. You may need to stand on a floating platform and use the Elephant’s midair dash attack to break through the wall.
  3. Once you have all five Remains, you will be teleported back to the man in the bottom of the tower. You will get Sick. (Uh…thanks?)
  4. Return to Scuttle Tower, go to the Bath House, and speak to the doctor. He will give you a Lollipop.
  5. Head to Mermaid Falls and search the middle area for a platform that contains a Naga and a sparkling hole in the floor. Turn into a Mouse and enter the hole.
  6. Follow the maze to the left, using the moving platforms, until you see a white light and many purple blocks. Exit the hole above you.
  7. Speak to the wizard and give him the Lollipop in exchange for the Light Shard.
The final pieces...
Obtained the Zombie Hamster and the Iron Slab

Story-related and cannot be missed.

These items can be obtained in any order, but you will need to clear most of the stages first. To obtain the Zombie Hamster (requires Harpy; see Fully Formed):

  1. Head to the second screen of the first area in Hypno Baron’s Castle.
  2. Turn into a Harpy, fly to the roof, and head to the right until you see an opening.
  3. Drop into the opening, go left, and speak to Poe.

To obtain the Iron Slab:

  1. Head to Main Street, find the third body of water, and turn into a Mermaid.
  2. Go through the pipe and speak to the man to obtain the Vorpal Blade.
  3. Return to Scuttle Town and speak to the man in the Item Shop. He will give you the Foxy Grandma hat in exchange for the Vorpal Blade.
  4. Exit the Item Shop, go right, and give the Foxy Grandma hat to Grandma Blobfish, who is by the Art Gallery. She will give you the Mermaid Bubble.
  5. Head to Tassel Town, go to the second body of water, and turn into a Mermaid.
  6. Jump into the water, destroy the block on the left with Mermaid Bubble, and enter the pipe.
Finders Keepers
Collect all of Risky's personal possessions.  (2)

Missable!

Towards the end of the game, Uncle Mimic will ask you to look for clues before fighting Risky. There are four items you need to find. You must wait until you have all four items BEFORE giving them to Uncle Mimic for this trophy to pop. Again, do NOT give Uncle Mimic any of the items until you have the trophy. All four items are obtained by completing quests for the Barons in Scuttle Town:

  1. Techno Baron will trade you Risky's Cufflink for his Data Chip, which is found in the second area of the factory of Mermaid Falls. Fly to the top and enter the door with a torch on either side. To navigate through this area, you will need the Harpy, Spider, and Bat transformations.
  2. Ammo Baron will trade you Risky's Pendant for 5 pieces of Scrap Metal. You can find Scrap Metal by using Elephant Stomp on certain white flowers. You can find the flowers in these locations:
    • Scuttle Town. By the save point (far left).
    • Main Street. Second screen of the first area. Go all the way to the right. You will see a stack of purple blocks (three on the bottom and two on top). Whip the blocks to reveal the flower.
    • Mermaid Falls. Right at the start.
    • Mermaid Falls. Go to the second screen of the factory. Right at the start.
    • Cape Crustacean. Third screen inside the airship. Drop through the platform past the lasers.

If you would prefer a video of the white flower locations (credit to the video creator):

Hypno Baron will trade you Risky's Ribbon for 10 Sunken Souls, which are hidden in the game. There are 7 in Mermaid Falls and 3 in Tassel Town. You can find the Sunken Souls in these locations:

Mermaid Falls

  • 1/10 - First screen of the first area. Drop down into the water as a Crab or Mermaid.
  • 2/10 - Second screen of the first area (requires Crab Claws). Jump into the first body of water and claw the seaweed blocks on the right.
  • 3/10 - Second screen of the first area (requires Mermaid). Jump into the first body of water, head down, left, and swim up.
  • 4/10 - Second screen of the first area (requires Mermaid Bubble). Jump into the first body of water, head down, and swim right. You will need to destroy a block to reach it.
  • 5/10 - First screen of the factory (requires Mermaid). Jump into the water after the white flower, head down, and swim left.
  • 6/10 - Second screen of the factory (requires Crab Claw). Jump into the water after the white flower and claw the seaweed blocks on the left.
  • 7/10 - Second screen of the factory (requires Mermaid Bubble). Jump into the water after the white flower and shoot the block on the right.

Tassel Town

  • 8/10 - First screen of the first area. Drop down into the water as a Crab or Mermaid.
  • 9/10 - First screen of the first area (requires Mermaid Bubble). Jump into the second body of water, go down, and shoot the block on the left. Go through this area and look on the platform above the underwater pipe.
  • 10/10 - First screen of the first area (requires Elephant Stomp and Crab). Near a bomb-dropping bird, you will see a purple block on the ground. Elephant Stomp the block to destroy it, transform into a Crab, and drop to the bottom of the water.

If you would prefer a video of the Sunken Soul locations (credit to the video creator):

  1. Squid Baron will trade you Risky's Buckle for a Squid Poster. First, talk to get Squid Baron to receive the Velvet Poster. Next, head to Hypno Baron's Castle, enter the first door, and keep going straight to find Abner through the next door. Abner will trade you a Squid Poster for the Velvet Poster. Return to Squid Baron to finish the trade.

Once you have all four items (without having traded any to Uncle Mimic), the trophy will pop.

Queen of the Seven... Cheese?
Defeat Risky Boots as a Mouse. (4)

Risky Boots is the seventh boss in the game (see Pummeled Pirate) and you will need Mouse Bite in order to do this (see Relic Collector). Defeating Risky is normally not too difficult, but defeating her as a Mouse is a bit challenging because Mouse Bite only deals 1 damage. Only the killing blow needs to be in Mouse form, but there is no way of telling how much health she has left. You can (and should) weaken her using items and other attacks before transforming into a Mouse. Once you feel she is close to being defeated, turn into a Mouse and chomp away. A turbo controller will save your thumb a lot of pain.

According to optimusmart's walkthrough, you need to hit Risky around 240 individual times with the hair whip (at maximum upgrade) before switching to Mouse form and dealing the final bit of damage.

A Perfect Heist
Collect your first component in Pirate Queen's Quest.

This is story related and cannot be missed.

Just like in Shantae’s mode, Risky Boots will have to complete the games story, but with a different twist. This trophy will be earned when you complete any of the five stages, and collect the first component to Risky Boots Dynamo.

After starting the game, you will have free access to any of five dungeons: Main Street, Mermaid Falls, Tassel Town, Cape Crustacean and Hypno Baron’s Castle. It’s easiest to get the ball rolling by going in general story order as Shantae’s mode, starting with Main Street, since the platforming is easy and the Tinkerslug/P.o.o.p.t.o.o.t. is an easy boss.

The Pirate's Curse
Collect all Dark Magic in Pirate Queen's Quest.

Dark Magic is scattered throughout the DLC. You need to collect all of them in order to earn the trophy and achieve 100% completion.

There is a thread here that has a full list of all collectibles in the game and where to find them. Note that if you’re going for the speed run, you do not have to collect everything. You can always reload your save and collect items AFTER you finish the speed run and still unlock all of the win screens for the Pirate’s Queen Quest.

If you do not collect all the Dark Magic before beating the DLC, reload your save file after beating Shantae and use the Pirate Barrel to return to the hub and keep searching.

Absolute Power
Collect all Genie Crystals in Pirate Queen's Quest.

Genie Crystals are another collectible scattered throughout the game. You need to collect all of them in order to earn the trophy and achieve 100% completion.

You will need all 15 of the Genie Crystals to be able to finish the DLC. So if you’re focusing on beating the game quickly, make sure to beat the stages as fast as possible and collect each of Risky Boot’s new weapons before revisiting stages to collect collectibles.

There is a thread here that has a full list of all collectibles in the game and where to find them.

Risky's Revenge
Defeat that Half-Genie brat in Pirate Queen's Quest!

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.

This trophy will be earned upon completing the Pirate’s Queen DLC, when you face the last boss, Shantae. You will need to find all 15 of the Genie crystals before you can beat the DLC.

Before beginning the quest to face Shantae, make sure Risky Boot’s has a healthy stock of health items. You shouldn’t need all of them, but getting them is not going to hurt you (unless your against the clock).

Shantae will use her dance moves to change forms and attack you. You have a few second opening while she is dancing to attack. Once you see what she changes into, learn her patterns to avoid damage and make this fight way easier.

- When she turns into a monkey, she will barrel roll in one direction, stay there and move again repeating this several times.
- When she turns into an elephant she will disappear and then smash down onto one area of the stage so keep moving.
- When she turns into a spider she will leave the arena and rain down green globs of goo on you so avoid each of these before falling back down on top of you.
- When she turns into a mermaid she will jump and shoot water bullets at you.in three volleys.
- When she turns into a bat, she will make the screen go dark except for the area around Shantae, then move around the stage giving you limited visibility.
- When she turns into a harpy, she will swipe across the screen several times before landing so slide and jump over her as needed..
- When she turns into a mouse she will dash across the floor fast several times and summon lightning when she stops.
- When she turns into a crab, she will summon two large water spouts that she will then dash from each side of the screen to the other.

You can use Seeker bullets to damage her from afar when she’s transformed then when she’s dancing button mash to attack her quickly with the Scimitar. Once you get her weakened she will appear hurt, so you can gauge how far you have to go.

Secret Trophies
Risky Revolution
Obtain all win screens of Pirate Queen's Quest.

(Missable)

You must obtain all 4 win screens for Pirate Queen’s Quest. The win screens are different versions of a wallpaper of Risky Boots earned after beating the game and each one has a unique requirement.

The Win Screens and there requirements are:

Complete the game.

Beat the game with a 100% completion rate

Beat the game in 1 hour and 30 minutes

Beat the game in 2 hours with 100% completion

Note you do not have to do all of these concurrently. You can get one win screen and go back for the others. For example, I beat the game once at 1:18:26 with 81%, reloaded my save, escaped the final stage using the Pirate’s Barrel, then went back to get all the collectibles, beating the game with 100% at just over 1:30, but fulfilling all the other requirements.

If you can’t do everything in one playthrough, it’s not recommended to do the speed run first, unless you’re really confident. It’s best to learn the game before attempting the speed run.

Skip all cut scenes when you can and try to minimize repetitive trips to stages. Get in, get what you need, then get out. Also try to save a stash of as many healing items as you can for bosses, try not to use them so you don’t have to farm for them later.

DLC: Shantae: Friends to the End
Cost: TBD Trophies: 7

Deja vu?
Relive a past event in Friends to the End.  (1)

Story related, can't be missed.

This trophy will pop after you complete the DLC's first world by defeating the Tinkerslug/P.O.O.P.T.O.O.T. Defeat the Tinkerslug by attacking the bell, which causes an explosive barrel to be loaded at the top. Then use Bolo to climb up, launch the barrel at the slug then drop down to attack the slug. This should take about 4 barrels to beat with Bolo. You don't really need any other characters unless you need to heal, in which case switch to Rottytops.

Learn to Fly
Keep one of Sky's attack birds in flight for a full 60 seconds in Friends to the End. (1)

This one is tricky, you want to keep Sky's bird (her normal attack) in the air for a full minute. This is hard because normally, you launch one and it comes right back at you. To make it stay airborne, have Sky jump over the bird as it returns to her. The bird will then adjust its trajectory and attempt to return to Sky again. Now you must begin a loop of constantly moving back and forth and jumping over the bird to keep it circling Sky but never getting close enough to be recovered. This takes a bit of practice to finally get a good rhythm going because it's very easy to mess up but persevere and you will get it eventually. Find a nice area where you can perform the trophy without worrying about enemies, like the spawning area of any stage, where you can focus on getting the trophy rather than staying alive.

That's using your head!
Defeat 10 enemies with Rotty's head throw in Friends to the End. (1)

For this trophy you want to find some enemies and throw Rottytop's head at them by using , then aiming directly at them. Just keep throwing her head until they die. Go to world 1-1 or 3-1 as there are some easy to defeat enemies in both. Rinse and repeat until 10 enemies are defeated and you will get the trophy.

Half-Wit Hero
Defeat 20 enemies with Bolo's grapple attack in Friends to the End.

Bolo can use a his grappling hook with to grapple onto rings but it can also be used to attack enemies. The rub is the attack aims at a 45 degree angle upwards so you will need to find enemies above Bolo you can attack, such as the bats in Hypno Baron's castle. Find and defeat 20 of them and you will be get the trophy in no time.

Kid Squids
Collect all Dream Squids in Friends to the End. (1)

There are 48 Dream Squids hidden in Friends to the End. There are three of them in each World, between save points. There are no Dream Squids in boss encounters. You can confirm which Squids you have and where you need to yet go by opening the menu with and selecting Stage Select.

Below is a list of where to find each one and how to get them.

World 1-1:

  1. Found not far into the stage at the top of a high up platform. Use Sky. Stand on the edge on the left and use the bird egg to create a platform, then jump up. You can use the glide to go that extra distance.
  2. Found at the end of the water section where Bolo has to grapple across. It’s lying in the water at the end.
  3. Found in the air at the end of the stage.

World 1-2:

  1. Found at the top of the beginning of the stage. You need to use Bolo to grapple to the upper left where it sits on a shaq.
  2. After climbing to the top of the city, when you begin your descent back down, use Sky to create a platform and jump up onto the upper right platform instead. The Squid is in the next room and requires Bolo to reach it.
  3. At the end of the stage, on a platform above an enemy.

World 2-1:

  1. At the beginning of the stage, at the far lower right. Jump into the water and dip under the rock face to reach it.
  2. As you climb the water fall area you will see some black electricity. Use Sky to make a platform then quickly switch to Rottytops and throw her head left through the electricity. Then switch characters as needed until you reach it.
  3. You need to use the grapple at the upper right of the map at just the right time to reach it. You might save this one for after the initial speed run.

World 2-2:

  1. At the base of the largest room, you will see a cave to the right. Enter here and use Sky and Rottytops to reach the Squid.
  2. This one is in the large room near the top in the upper left. You need to use Sky and Rottytops to climb higher to reach it.
  3. This one is in the large room near the exit. Instead of leaving, turn around and use Sky to throw a bird platform. Jump across to the ledge and grab the Squid.

World 2-3:

  1. Found immediately after the first pit in the air
  2. Found in the middle of the short conveyor after the fourth or fifth pit
  3. Found at the end of a short conveyor, grabbed just BEFORE jumping over a pit

World 3-1:

  1. Found on a high platform that has black electricity emanating from below it. Use Bolo to grapple and swing up there.
  2. It will be floating high above the ground in front of some earth blocks. Use Sky to make a platform and reach it.
  3. Found near the end below a platform above some quicksand. Rapid jump to get it without sinking.

World 3-2:

  1. As you climb the death trap you will see an archer and a path right versus an easier path left. Go right and climb. The Squid is up there.
  2. About midway you will see a Bolo grip point and some spaced out platforms with an opening to climb on the right, but the Squid will be to the left. You will need Sky to reach this one.
  3. Not far past the second you will see the third in a cubby in the upper right. You also need Sky to reach this one.

World 3-3:

  1. After the first big pit, you will see it below the platform. On the other side it can be reached by Bolo, very carefully.
  2. In the second part, this one is tucked away in a corner after the platforming. Use Sky’s Egg platforms to reach it.
  3. In the third part of the stage, this one is below another platform. Use Rottytops to reach it safely by throwing her head.

World 4-1:

  1. After landing on the first airship, it is below the first ring. You need to use Bolo and time it just right to stage alive.
  2. After a series of airships that fall out from under you when you land on them you will get to another airship with a canon on it. This one is floating above the cannon.
  3. Almost immediately after the second Squid is some Bolo grapple points. You will need to swing and reach the third Squid floating in midair.

World 4-2:

  1. On the second airship with the first set of flipping doors, press down and go inside the airship. There is a door you can enter. Use Rottytops to navigate through the lasers.
  2. On an airship with a lightning barrier, press down over one of the flipping doors to drop inside the airship. There is a door you can enter. Use Rottytops to get around all of the lightning barriers.
  3. On the fourth airship with three flipping doors that you have to use to get past a lightning barrier that moves left to right, enter the first flipping door and enter the room. Use Bolo to swing across with the grapple point.

World 4-3:

  1. In the second room, you will see an opening in the ceiling with a chain that you can climb. Climb this and use Bolo to break the large blocks. Then use Rottytops to get up to the door. Enter this door. Use Bolo and Rottytops to get the Dream Squid.
  2. As you progress a few rooms you will see a laser barricade with a platform floor behind it. You can drop down here. This section is lengthy. You enter the large sewage room. Jump into the water and dive just enough to make it under the wall, then exit the water in the first opening. From here you need to use Sky then Bolo to reach a grapple point. The puzzles from here require all of the characters to get past before you finally climb to the top and get the Squid.
  3. In the last large room there is a crevice in the lower right where you can use Rottytops to reach it.

World 5-1:

  1. From the beginning of the castle, go right until entering the first door. Then go left and climb upwards. From here, go right to a purple block and another door. This door will take you to a Squid. Now go back.
  2. Go left from the door you just exited. Go across the room and enter the far left door. In the next room, go to the other end and climb. On the second level, go left. Rather than use the door on the left, use Bolo to grab the grappling point then swing upwards. Go right to reach a purple block. The Squid is behind it.
  3. Immediately after the last squid go right and see a platform above head. Use Sky to get up here and get to the room. Then go right until you find an opening in the ceiling with a chain. Drop down here to get to the final Squid.

World 5-2:

  1. In the first part, right above the first platform that falls out from under you, hidden near the top behind the leaves. Use Sky to reach it.
  2. In part 2, you'll see it next to a platform and above a pit. You want to get to the other side then have Sky make a carefully placed platform to reach it.
  3. Securely hidden right atop the exit in part 3. Use Sky to make a platform to reach it.

World 6-1 (Bolo only):

  1. In the first part, you will see this floating above your head out of reach. If you grab onto the grapple point just past it, you can swing back to get it.
  2. In the second part, you will see this one dangerously close to some spikes. You might sacrifice a touch of life to get it rather than finesse your way to it.
  3. This one is stored safely tucked away above the exit in part 3. You need to use the grapple point to be able to reach it, however.

World 6-2 (Rottytops only):

  1. At the end of the first part, you will see it below a spike block with a tiny platform. Carefully get to the other side of the pitfall and then aim Rottytops head just right to get it. Lightly jump so you get the Squid without hitting the spikes.
  2. This one is a pain. At the end of part 2, you will see a platform that you have to throw your head onto, then quickly get to onto as it's travelling left. Now you need to jump over to the Squid. If you stay on the platform it will return to a spike wall that will damage you.
  3. Shortly after the beginning of part 3, you will see this overhead. You have to jump back to get it after throwing Rottytops head up to the tiny platform.

World 6-3 (Sky only):

  1. At the end of the first part, above the exit. You can use a well-placed Sky platform from below the ledge to get up to it and grab the Squid.
  2. In the second part, you will see an upside down U shaped spike puzzle near the exit. You must place a bird platform so you can reach it but be very careful of the timing as the platform moves below you.
  3. This one is hidden at the end of part 3 in a very cruel ring puzzle. If you get to the platform past the ring puzzle you have only a few seconds to throw an egg platform, jump back to the rings, hatch the platform and then get in jumping range of the Squid. Carefully control your descent until you get to the rings and can continue on your way.
Friends to the End
Save an ally with the power of friendship in Friends to the End.  (1)

Story related, can't be missed.

This trophy is earned upon completing the Friends to the End by defeating Nega-Shantae at the end of the DLC. Nega-Shantae is essentially the same enemy as fighting Shantae in the Pirate Queen's Quest DLC. Except for a palette swap, the battle is the same. However, unlike Shantae, Nega-Shantae will not demonstrate a weakened state so you cannot judge how close you are to victory by that. She will, however, drop gems around that same time, just like other bosses did before hand.

Nega-Shantae will use her dance moves to change forms and attack you. You have a few second opening while she is dancing to attack. Once you see what she changes into, learn her patterns to avoid damage and make this fight way easier.

  • When she turns into a monkey, she will barrel roll in one direction, stay there and move again repeating this several times.
  • When she turns into an elephant she will disappear and then smash down onto one area of the stage so keep moving.
  • When she turns into a spider she will leave the arena and rain down green globs of goo on you so avoid each of these before falling back down on top of you.
  • When she turns into a mermaid she will jump and shoot water bullets at you.in three volleys.
  • When she turns into a bat, she will make the screen go dark except for the area around Shantae, then move around the stage giving you limited visibility.
  • When she turns into a harpy, she will swipe across the screen several times before landing so slide and jump over her as needed..
  • When she turns into a mouse she will dash across the floor fast several times and summon lightning when she stops.
  • When she turns into a crab, she will summon two large water spouts that she will then dash from each side of the screen to the other.

Just like Shantae, Nega-Shantae can be safely rapidly attacked when she is dancing. When she transforms, she is harder to hit so either concentrate on avoiding damage altogether or use special weapons to hit her from afar.

Secret Trophies
True Friends!
Obtain all win screens of Friends to the End.  (1)

(Missable)

This is the most difficult trophy in this DLC set. Just like in the other modes of Shantae Half-Genie Hero, you must beat the DLC and achieve multiple win screens, which are wallpapers shown when meeting certain requirements. The requirements for the 4 win screens are:

Clear the game

Clear the game with 100%

Clear the game in 1 hour 20 minutes (according to research)

Clear the game in 1 hour 45 minutes (according to research) with 100%.

You want to skip every cut scene with when you can. Also, be sure to skip the tutorial when you first get control of Bolo. Now, you have 1 hour and 20 minutes to clear every stage and get close to 100%. Get the Dream Squids that you can but make sure you don’t spend too much time. On average you have about 4 minutes per stage and you should be able to scream through several stages.

Fortunately, you do have the benefit of being able to save after every sub-world. So you can save after the tutorial, save after 1-1, save after 1-2 and so on.

Remember to collect as many gems as you can. Each character has strengths and weaknesses and depending on your play style, try to get as many gems for each as possible. Bolo can attack quickly and strongly which is useful especially in the last boss. Sky on the other hand has a good range but slow attacks that speed up the more you get gems making her pretty strong in the Dual Barons fight if she has a full gem count. If you have need for life and have enough MP, remember to use Rottytops to restore life by eating brains (yum) so make sure to keep Rottytops magic charged if you can. Remember that magic is not automatically restored and both magic and gems carries over stage to stage.

You do not have to focus on Dream Squids but it is highly efficient to collect them in each world as you go and while some are a bit out of the way, you have plenty of time. Collect as many as you can. If you have particular trouble with one, you can always come back to it after you beat Nega-Shantae and get it as part of the 100% speed run. Refer to Kid Squids for how to find and reach each Squid.

There is adequate time to collect all Dream Squids and still meet the deadline for fastest time. I purposely ignored two squids in World 2-2. I beat the DLC at 107 minutes, went back to collect the last two Dream Squids then faced Nega-Shantae again, clearing the DLC at 1:11:25 with 100%.

On average, every stage including bosses was about 3 to 4 minutes long if you keep moving with only one or two in the 5 minute length. If you find yourself stalled and making too many mistakes, reset the game and start from your last save point.

If you fail and continue, it's basically reloading your save file and does not impact your time. Also, any collectibles you found before continuing and post save are lost and will need to be reacquired.

When you beat Nega-Shantae, you cannot skip the ending. Just spam to get to the results screen. Hold to speed up the credits as well, because it's quite lengthy.

Note: A peculiar bug occurred when I got the trophy. It popped 4 times, once for each of the four win screens. The trophy counted, it just happened this way.

DLC: Costume Pack
Cost: TBD Trophies: 10

Switch it up!
Defeat 50 enemies using switch blocks.

In Officer mode, Shantae can toggle the switch blocks that are scattered all over the place by pressing / in order to create new platforms. If either Shantae or an enemy is in front of the switch block when it toggles, they will get smacked into the screen and die. You can do this in various parts of the game but there is an ideal location in World 5-2 where skeletons that keep infinitely spawning will run at you. Just keep smashing them with the blocks and you will earn the trophy.

Ninja vanish!
Use the teleport ability 100 times.

This trophy is earned in Ninja mode. Use the button to teleport (haphazardly) around. You will use this a lot or you can just load up the first stage and press one hundred times to earn the trophy.

SPF 250
Collect 250 bottles of sunscreen. (1)

Beach mode requires you to collect sunscreen about every 20 seconds or you will take damage. Sunscreen is scattered all over the place. If you do not get this trophy naturally, find a nice cozy hole that's out of the way of taking damage where Sunscreen spawns. Now just camp there. A sunscreen will automatically spawn every 5 seconds, providing you put Shantae on top of it, the sunscreen will spawn faster than your dial will run out, so you can just put your controller down a while and this trophy will earn itself. You can get 12 sunscreens a minute and should take about 21 minutes to get all 250, if you need to.

Clear out!
Complete the game in Officer Mode.

Story related, can't be missed.

You will need to beat the game in Officer Mode with Officer Shantae. Of the three costume sets this one is probably the easiest. You can attack your enemies from a distance and the entire puzzle structure is about finely timed platforming. You will earn this trophy after the credits roll.

Officer Shantae's attack is weak, doing only 3 damage but it can be rapid fired. So when you are ready to attack, rapid attack. If you can, when facing Giga Mermaid, try to maintain a Level 2 or Level 4 Pellet Gun. This will give you a spread shot you can use to hit her head without having to climb.

The fight against Wilbur is what it is and can't really be sped up.

Ammo Baron requires both high level attacks and patience, since his tendency to stay out of range means you can only attack him when he's ground level or with a spread attack.

With max level, the Dual Barons are a push over and can be beaten very fast.

To beat the game, you must defeat Risky Boots at the end and then escape the final stage via the lava slide, just like in the main game. Risky Boot's attack patterns are identical to the main game, with the exception of when she summons Tinkerbats a few switch blocks will also appear for your use, should you choose. Risky Boots can be rapid attacked and beaten not long after her first anchor move if you’re precise. Better yet, if you can preserve your Level 4 attack long enough, she can be beaten before her anchor move, making this a fast fight.

Shinobi Shantae!
Complete the game in Ninja Mode

You will need to beat the game in Ninja Mode with Ninja Shantae. Beating Ninja Mode requires precise activation of the teleport feature (which can be frustrating if your controller registers a down press when pressing right). Also, because Ninja Shantae has such a speed advantage, the clear time requirements are much tighter if you’re going for those.

Ninja Shantae moves so fast so in some bosses where you have timed evasion of attacks, such as Wilbur, it's easy to actually run into an attack so keep that in mind. Generally, for all bosses, you can use the teleport to avoid attacks if you find yourself cornered. In the case of Giga Mermaid you can use the teleport to reach her head jewel without climbing.

To beat the game, you must defeat Risky Boots at the end and then escape the final stage via the lava slide, just like in the main game. Risky Boot's attack patterns are identical to the main game. If you can get close to and rapid attack her, you can defeat her not long after the first time she uses her anchor move.

Fun in the sun!
Complete the game in Beach Mode.

You will need to beat the game in Beach Mode with Beach Shantae. Beach Mode is very difficult because you're constantly under a time restraint. If you do not pick up sunscreen or fall in water every 10 seconds, you will lose health at a rapid rate. Bosses drop Sunscreen to help you stay alive, but you must be careful to collect them and make them drop them fast enough to be of use to you. You also want to master the use of the bubble to bypass tricky enemies whenever possible.

The Giga Mermaid can be quite difficult in that it will only drop two sunscreens in the first phase, so try to destroy two locks before collecting the sunscreen if you can to get the most mileage out of your time. In part two, it will drop a sunscreen every time it tries to slap you with its' tail. Get by her by attacking her head jewel with the beach ball, rapidly if you can.

Wilbur drops sunscreen when you attack the rocks and the eyeball but for a while you will have to be cautious and grab the sunscreen when it appears.

Ammo Baron is not much of a problem as he and his crew will drop lots of items.

The Dual Barons are hard. You have to attack them fast. It's harder to hit Hypno Baron so it's harder to get sunscreen from him.

To beat the game, you must defeat Risky Boots at the end and then escape the final stage via the lava slide, just like in the main game. Risky Boot’s attack patterns are identical to the main game and so long as you keep hitting her she will regularly drop sunscreen. The Tinkerbats will be generous with hearts and MP refills so use your beach ball to get some extra damage on Risky if you can hit her.

Fortunately, on the lava slide you do not have to worry about the accursed sunscreen but rather just escaping.

Secret Trophies
Costume Party!
Complete a level wearing every costume!

This trophy will be earned as you complete World 1-1 with all three of the different costume packs Officer Mode, Beach Mode and Ninja Mode but it doesn't matter how you complete them.

Mission Complete!
Obtain all win screens in Officer Mode.  (4)

MISSABLE

This is one of the three most difficult trophies in this DLC set. Just like in the other modes of Shantae Half-Genie Hero, you must beat the DLC and achieve multiple win screens in Officer Mode, which are wallpapers shown when meeting certain requirements.

The requirements for the 4 win screens are:

Clear the game

Clear the game with 100%

Clear the game in 50 minutes

Clear the game in 1 hour with 100%.

You want to skip every cutscene with when you can. Also, be sure to skip the tutorial. You have only 50 minutes to clear every stage and get as close to 100% as you possibly can without breaking your time. Find and capture the Space Hooligans that you can but make sure you don’t spend too much time. If you fall in a pit and have to redo a checkpoint your better off restarting. On average you have just over 2 minutes per stage and you should be able to scream through several stages, but some stages such as the World 3 Boss can't exactly be sped up.

Fortunately, you have the benefit of being able to save after every sub-world so you can save after the tutorial, save after 1-1, save after 1-2 etc. but you cannot save after defeating Risky Boots. Due to this, you must beat her then escape on the lava slide in one attempt to save time otherwise you will add several minutes to your run.

Remember to collect as many gems as you can. Shantae is formidable at level 3 up as here pellet gun gets larger and faster but at level 4 she has the most range. If you can go into bosses like the Giga Mermaid (especially with her head jewel out of easy range) and the Dual Barons with level 4, you will be able to do damage very rapidly. You want level 4 weapons whenever you go into a boss because it makes the bosses much easier to hit and defeat quickly.

Don't focus on Space Hooligans but rather collect as many as you can. If you have particular trouble with one, you can always come back to it after you beat the DLC and get it as part of the 100% speed run.

If you can't make fastest time, beat the game with 100% under fastest time instead. Now go back and do a pure speed run by starting a new game on the same game save, preserving your previous win screen memory and ignoring all the Dream Squids and get the last win screen.

If you fail and continue, it's basically reloading your save file and does not impact your time. Also, any collectibles you found before continuing and post save are lost and will need to be reacquired.

Note: In each Sub-World stage there are 5 Space Hooligans to find (Risky Boots, Rottytops, Sky, Twitch and Vinegar). There are no Space Hooligans in boss stages or in the final lava slide.

A Guide for all 75 Space Hooligans can be found here: LINK.

Revenge of Shantae!
Obtain all win screens in Ninja Mode.

MISSABLE

This is one of the three most difficult trophies in this DLC set. Just like in the other modes of Shantae Half-Genie Hero, you must beat the DLC and achieve multiple win screens in Ninja Mode, which are wallpapers shown when meeting certain requirements.

The requirements for the 4 win screens are:

Clear the game

Clear the game with 100%

Clear the game in 45 minutes

Clear the game in 1 hour (according to research) with 100%.

You want to skip every cutscene with when you can. Also, be sure to skip the tutorial. Ninja mode plays very fast so you have only 45 minutes to clear every stage and get as close to 100% as you possibly can without breaking your time. Get the Dream Squids that you can but make sure you don't spend too much time. If you fall in a pit and have to redo a checkpoint your better off restarting. On average you have about 2 minutes per stage and you should be able to scream through several stages but some stages such as the World 3 Boss can't exactly be sped up.

Shantae is formidable at level 3 up. Her attacks are fast and powerful but you must be at close range. Her shuriken at level 3 and 4 is much stronger as well, with a straight and a spread shot. Her level 2 shuriken only fires at angles and makes firing at enemies in front of you difficult.

Don't focus on Space Hooligans but rather collect as many as you can. If you have particular trouble with one, you can always come back to it after you beat the DLC and get it as part of the 100% speed run.

If you can't make fastest time, beat the game with 100% under fastest time instead. Then go back and do a pure speed run by starting a new game on the same game save, preserving your previous win screen memory, and ignoring all the Dream Squids and get the last win screen.

If you fail and continue, it's basically reloading your save file and does not impact your time. Also, any collectibles you found before continuing and post save are lost and will need to be reacquired.

Note: In each Sub-World stage there are 3 Dream Squids to find. There are no Squids in boss stages or in the final lava slide.

The perfect tan!
Obtain all win screens in Beach Mode.

MISSABLE

This is one of the three most difficult trophies in this DLC set. Just like in the other modes of Shantae Half-Genie Hero, you must beat the DLC and achieve multiple win screens in Beach Mode, which are wallpapers shown when meeting certain requirements.

The requirements for the 4 win screens are:

Clear the game

Clear the game with 100%

Clear the game in 1 hour

Clear the game in 1 hour and ten minutes (according to research) with 100%.

You want to skip every cutscene with when you can. Also, be sure to skip the tutorial. Prioritize getting sunscreen when you must and use the bubble to bypass as much of each stage as you can. Get the Dream Squids that you can but make sure you don’t spend too much time. If you fall in a pit and have to redo a checkpoint your better off restarting. On average you have about 2 and a half minutes per stage and you should be able to scream through several stages but some stages such as the World 3 Boss can't exactly be sped up.

Remember to collect as many gems as you can. Shantae's hair attack will power up just like it does in the main game by doing so.
