Turn the clocks back to 2004 and experience the game that started it all in this franchise remastered in HD. The story kicks off as Jack Carver, awoken on a mysterious Island. As you struggle for survival and escape, you'll also learn the secrets of the archipelago. Far Cry has a total of 20 action-packed missions in this FPS wildlife adventure.

In terms of trophies, you'll only have to play one playthrough if you use the save file exploit. Right after you complete the game, you'll have the option to start a new game. If you do this you will automatically delete all your save files, however there is a way to avoid this and change the difficulty.

Go to Main Menu
Select Campaign
Select New Campaign
Select the new difficulty you want. At this point, you have about 10 seconds before it starts deleting your saves.
Press the PS button and quit the game via the XMB before it starts deleting. (Alternately, you can reset the console here instead)
Reboot the game and see that your difficulty has changed.

By doing this, you'll be able to change the difficulty to Hard and save you a whole playthrough on the Hard difficulty. This makes your platinum run much much easier.

The problem is that upon starting a new game, the game will automatically start deleting your save files. This is why it's important to quit to the XMB RIGHT before the game starts to delete your save files.

Step 1 - Complete the game on Easy mode

During this step, you'll aim to complete the story on the easiest difficulty. The reason that you want to play on Easy is to make some of the miscellaneous trophies easier to earn, like not dying in a level. It's highly recommended. There is no need to stress over any other trophies in this step as you'll be earning those missed trophies during step 2. Also bear in mind that not every level has a story related trophy, so do not panic if you don't earn a trophy after completing a certain level. There are only 7 story related trophies to be earned.

In this step, you will earn the following trophies:

Reenlisted
Offline Interaction
Mean Steam Machine
Differing Opinions
Operation We Want Peace
Unleashed Fury
Contained Evolution

Step 2 - Clean up

During this step, you will use the Load Game feature to load any level that has a miscellaneous trophy to be earned. For some trophies, you can load to the nearest checkpoint rather than just loading the level. In the Zoo and Hot Zone Date however, will need to be earned from the start of the level. You cannot press "Restart" or "Load" checkpoint. Pressing either of them will void the trophy, even if you didn't die.

It's VERY important to not start a new game without reading SnowVixen's difficulty exploit beforehand, or else you WILL have to play another playthrough.

In this step, you will earn the following trophies:

Uneven Terrain
Flight Simulation
Long Distance Correspondence
Oceanic Vista
Bonding Experiences
Call Drops
"Hurt? Who me?"
Of Ravens And Crowes
Wildlife Safari
SpecOps Training
In the Zoo
Hot Zone Date
Ninja Jack

Step 3 - Complete the game on Hard mode

Once you earn every other trophy but Carver Style, you will want to start a new game. Right before your save files start deleting, immediately quit to the XMB to avoid your save files from being deleted. Then load up the game again and change the difficulty to Hard. You'll be able to start off at the final checkpoint on Hard, saving you a full Hard playthrough.

If you do not want to use the save file exploit, then you will aim to complete the game once more, but on Hard difficulty. You may complete it on Realistic difficulty as well if you want to challenge yourself, but it's highly recommended to play it on Hard as health does not regenerate over time like in most FPS games, making this a bit more challenging to complete. Medkits and armor are very frequent though, so you should have no trouble with running low on health all the time. For tips and strategies on how to make your Hard Mode easier, refer to the Carver Style trophy in the Trophy Guide section.

In this step, you will earn the following trophies:

Carver Style
Paradise Memoirs

[PST Would Like to Thank Warbear for this Roadmap]

Paradise Memoirs
Unlock All Trophies in FarCry Classic. (10)

Just like any other platinum trophy. Unlock all other trophies for this. Congrats!

Wildlife Safari
Complete Dam level without equipping a weapon on person (mounted weapons are allowed). (16)

WARNING: You cannot use "Restart" or "Load" checkpoint at all. If you do, the trophy will void. You need to complete the mission from start to finish without dying. If you die, back out to the main menu and load the mission up again. Same goes if you accidentally pick up a weapon.

As soon as you start mission 19; "Dam", you won't have any weapons. All you have to do is run down the pathway, down the waterfall and towards the crashed helicopter. Here, you can use the mounted guns on it to kill the huge TriGen that are blocking the path on the other side of the river. Once they are dead you want to head up the hill and go in the small armory to your left to trigger a cutscene. After that, you'll see a car you can get into. Now simply drive down the broken bridge and then stop the car when you see a tree between a river of volcano. Cross that and then just head along the pathway. Eventually you'll be by the satellite dish, from here skid down the cliff and then just run towards the building with two statues outside it. Run up the stairs of it, then towards the large door with a few enemies guarding it. As soon as you get near the door, the mission will end and the trophy will unlock.

SpecOps Training
Do not die while Doyle hacks the entry gates. (3)

This is unlocked in the "Fort" mission. Right after you pick up the RLX-9157 launcher, go down the narrow road on the left side of the door. There will be a small tunnel and armor inside. Camp there until you get an alert that Doyle has opened the entry gate and the trophy will unlock shortly afterwards. For a visual aid on what to do, refer to the video below:

In the Zoo
Complete Treehouse without dying. (8)

WARNING: You cannot use "Restart" or "Load" checkpoint at all. If you do, the trophy will void. You need to complete the mission from start to finish without dying. If you die, back out to the main menu and load the mission up again.

This trophy is fairly simple, the Treehouse mission isn't very long, and there isn't much that can kill you. The main thing you want to look out for are the snipers and the guy with a rocket launcher by the wooden rope bridge. You will want to use a sniper to take these guys out as it's the safest way. Be wary of fall damage too, there is a lot of places you can fall in this mission and the fall damage is very unforgiving. The trophy will unlock at the end of the chapter, on the mission complete screen.

Hot Zone Date
Do not let Valerie die even once in Swamp. (7)

WARNING: You cannot use "Restart" or "Load" checkpoint at all. If you do, the trophy will void. You need to complete the mission from start to finish without you dying, or Valerie dying. If you die or Valerie dies, back out to the main menu and load the mission up again.

Some people have said this trophy is glitched, but it's not. You just cannot die at all either, as reloading a checkpoint voids the trophy for some reason. Keeping Valerie alive is fairly easy, it's keeping yourself alive that you need to be more worried about. All you have to do is stay with Valerie, that way the enemies will go for you and not shoot her. Valerie is useless. She has a gun, but can't hit enemies with it so you need to kill any enemy that gets close to her. The main area she can die in is near the start when you first enter the base because of the amount of enemies in there. The best thing thing to do is kill the first couple then run upstairs, hoping Valerie will follow you. Once you hack the computer, the enemies will pile up at the bottom of the stairs and you can easily kill them. Overall, this trophy isn't difficult. Just make sure you stay alive too.

Carver Style
Complete the game in Hard or Realistic difficulty. (6)

There are a total of 20 missions to be completed. To earn this trophy, you can either complete the game on Hard or Realistic difficulty. The difference between Easy and Hard is that you take a huge amount of damage and you will be spotted much much faster by enemies. Stealth is almost useless in this mode, so expect to fight your way throughout most of the game. One great perk though is that enemies still take about the same damage to kill as opposed to Easy mode.

  • Melee at any given chance.
Melee is very helpful throughout your Hard run. Most enemies will die in one hit, and it saves ammunition. Only use this when you're near enemies though. Do not attempt to melee enemies from far away as you can take a lot of damage from enemies, or even get yourself killed in the process.
  • Learn where your enemies spawn.
Enemies spawn in the same places throughout the game. Learn where your enemies are to get an advantage. The more you die, the more you'll learn where your enemies spawn at.
  • Scan your enemies with your binoculars!
Always use your binoculars to scan enemies throughout the game. Not only does it show their location, but it also shows you in what direction they are facing.
  • Know when it's safe to push forward.
Your compass is displayed on your bottom left corner. If it's flashing red it means that enemies know your location. Yellow means that they're on the lookout for you. Whenever your compass is clear, it means that there are no enemies in the area. Only search for ammo and health when the area is clear, or as a last resort if you are low on health.
  • Backtrack for those health kits, armor and ammo!
You can only carry one health kit at a time. So sometimes you'll leave health kits behind. Backtrack to those areas when you need health most. It's very helpful.
  • Always kill trigens from a far distance.
These enemies can kill you in one hit, or two if you have armor on. Always kill these enemies from a far. Never try to melee them as this can get yourself killed. Some missions though you are in tight spaces and trigens will jump you from vents etc. For situations like this, use the shotgun. At close range, this is a one hit kill most of the time. If you are focused into close combat with trigens, sidestep left or right as much as possible when fighting them in order to dodge leap attacks.
  • Know when you're outnumbered.
There are some areas throughout the game that have to be handled from afar. This means you'll have to use ranged weapons like a sniper rifle, AG36, and the OICW. These three weapons have a scope, as well as a secondary ammunition. Both the AG36 and OICW have grenade launchers as their secondary. To switch to your secondary ammo, press on the Dpad.
  • Bypass enemies There is a lot of situations where you can skip most the enemies in an area, an example would be the warehouse and the room you need to flood. For the warehouse, you can simply run down the right hand side and pick the key card up by the guy with the rocket launcher. This will skip out 10-15 elites mercs. The other example is the room you flood in one of the later missions. You can just run to the valve and bypass all enemies in the room as they will drown in the water. Always be on the lookout for opportunities like this, as it saves time and ammo.

The trophy will unlock when you complete the final mission, "Volcano".

Ninja Jack
Collect the Key card in Research without alerting anybody! (15)

As this is tricky to explain, I highly advise watching the video below. This trophy can be achieved during the mission called "Research". At the very beginning of the mission you have to get a key card. The best way to get here is to hug the wall and go around the map clockwise. You will only really run into a few guards here, all of which are easily avoided. Please note that the enemy AI path can be a bit random, so your run might not go exactly the same as my run in the video below. This is just to show you the best possible path to take. The trophy will void if you get spotted by an enemy and they turn red, if you get spotted and they only turn yellow then you're still fine for the trophy. They just cannot go red and hostile. If you do get seen, feel free to restart the checkpoint as this will still make the trophy unlock.

Contained Evolution
Defeat Krieger. (2)

Story related and cannot be missed, will unlock mid way into the "Volcano" mission.

Call Drops
Kill the Traitor with a melee attack. (2)

Note: This trophy is pretty much impossible on hard and above difficulties, reason being is "The Traitor" will shoot at you when you run into the room he is in. You will die before you get a chance to melee him.

During the final mission, Volcano, your last objective is to kill "The Traitor". He is hiding away in a control room and you have to kill him in order to pass the mission. All you have to do is run into that control room as quick as you can and knife him, not shoot him. He will go down in one hit with your knife. A cut scene will play and your trophy will unlock.

"Hurt? Who me?"
Complete a level with full health and armor. (3)

Health is displayed as your red bar on the bottom right screen, and armor is the golden bar. To unlock this trophy, you must complete a level with full health and armor. This does not initially mean that you have to complete the whole level without getting hurt. You can take damage to both health and armor, as long as you finish the level with full health and armor. You can find health kits and body armor throughout the game to replenish both health and armor.

There are a few good opportunities to unlock this trophy, one would be at the very beginning of the game, in the "Training" mission. Right after you steal the car, you will see a hut with two soldiers guarding it near the beach. Inside the hut is both a health kit, and body armor. Grab these and proceed to the bottom of the wrecked ship to finish the level.

Another great level would be in the "River" level. Just after you kill Crowe and every enemy, grab a health kit and armor dropped from fallen enemies. There is a ton of armor throughout the area. Proceed toward the armored car to complete the mission. The trophy will unlock shortly afterwards.

Of Ravens And Crowes
Kill Crowe with a headshot. (3)

One of the final objectives for the mission titled "River" is to kill Crowe. He will be in an open area with lots of other mercs. You can identify him easy enough as he is wearing a cowboy hat. All you have to do is headshot him with any gun. Here is a video for visual aid:

Reenlisted
Complete Training mission. (1)

Story related and cannot be missed. It will unlock after the "Training" mission.

When you begin the first mission you will learn basic tutorials like how to move, shoot, avoid enemies, and so on. You will have to sneak through the island, find some ammo, a pair of binoculars, and steal a car. Once you steal the car, you will have to drive to the marked destination which is the shipwreck. Once you reach the shipwreck, enter the hole on the bottom of the ship to complete the mission and the trophy will unlock shortly afterwards.

Offline Interaction
Complete Pier Mission. (1)

Story related and cannot be missed. It will unlock after the "Pier" mission.

This will be the 4th mission in the game. As the mission starts off, you'll be on top of a cliff. Use the Hang glider to glide to the bottom of the cliff. Throughout the mission you'll need to sneak through some bungalows, as well as guard towers. Towards the end of the mission, you'll see 5 guards near the pier. Two are near a gas container that you can shoot to take both out in one shot. Once you reach the pier, you'll have to advance to the very end of the pier to meet Doyle and complete the mission.

Mean Steam Machine
Complete Steam Mission. (2)

Story related and cannot be missed. It will unlock after the "Steam" mission.

This will be the 8th mission in the game. This mission takes place during the night, so it's best to take use of your night vision goggles. You will face a healthy amount of Trigens as well, so proceed with caution. As you reach the middle point of the level, you'll encounter a small campsite with a lot of enemies surrounding the area. When you kill every enemy you will have to proceed towards the end of the road which leads to your next objective. Towards the end of the level, you'll reach a steam generator. Once you reach to the entrance, the mission will end.

Differing Opinions
Complete Rebellion Mission. (1)

Story related and cannot be missed. It will unlock after the "Rebellion" mission.

This will be on the 11th mission of the game. The mission starts off with a few Trigens near the area. Unlike the previous 4 missions, this one is finally takes place outside again. When you go outside, you'll notice a group of enemies being distracted by a Fat Boy/Big. Take advantage of the distraction and take out the three snipers on the three guard towers. Once you kill every enemy, take out the Fat Boy with a long ranged weapon. During this mission you'll mostly just try to reach the lighthouse on the other side of the Island. You can drive a vehicle throughout most of the mission. During the midpoint of the level, you'll face a helicopter from afar. Snipe the gunner and run towards the lighthouse. There is an enemy firing mortars from above, so proceed with caution. Once you reach the entrance to the archive, the mission will end.

Operation We Want Peace
Complete Swamp Mission. (1)

Story related and cannot be missed. It will unlock after the "Swamp" mission.

This is the 17th mission, and it is short and sweet. At the start, you need to "borrow" a car. Simply head to the objective to find the car. Valerie will drive and you will be the gunner. Just shoot the enemies that chase you. Eventually you will leave the car, and from there you just need to navigate the base and go towards the objectives marked. This mission is very linear, as you follow Valerie half the time. The mission will end when you find the bomb on the forklift.

Unleashed Fury
Complete Volcano Mission. (2)

Story related and cannot be missed. It will unlock after the "Volcano" mission.

This is the 20th and final mission in the game. It's fairly short, but it can be tricky on hard difficulty. There is 3 phases of the mission, the first one is a room with elite mercs with assault rifles and riot shields. The second phase has a mutated Krieger, but he is easily dealt with using a rocket launcher. The 3rd and final phase of this mission is dealing with Doyle. I think this is the hardest part in the game, especially on hard difficulty. What I did was spot the 5 TriGen that are lurking on the higher platforms with the binoculars. I then used a sniper to deal with those and the LMG to deal with the huge dude who is approaching you from the right. Once all the smaller Trigens are dead, you can deal with the big ones. Stay far away from them, using a sniper rifle and a rocket launcher to take them out. There are 6 or 7 of them all together. Then all you need to do is pull the switch in the room that has a large door and then use the elevator in the center of the outside area. Once up here follow the path towards Doyle, who is very easy to kill.

Uneven Terrain
Run over 5 enemies while driving a vehicle. (3)

As the description says, run over 5 enemies while driving a vehicle. This trophy can first be earned as soon as you steal a vehicle to try to escape the island during the "training" mission. If you fail to run over 5 enemies before you get to the shipwreck, restart the checkpoint. You will more than likely get this just by playing the game though, as you drive a vehicle in 90% of the missions. Don't worry about this trophy too much.

Flight Simulation
Fall over 150m and survive. (5)

Mission: Pier

At the very start of this mission, you will see two enemies in front of you and two gliders. Kill the two enemies and then look at the glider nearest the cliff. You want to get on this and then as soon as you fly off the cliff, quickly pull back on the so you go a little higher then press to get off it. If done right you will go plummeting into the water below and get the trophy shortly afterwards. The first time I did this, I did not get the trophy. If that happens, simply restart the checkpoint and go again.

Long Distance Correspondence
Get a headshot kill from 500m. (5)

Mission: Pier

At the very start of this mission, you will see two enemies in front of you and two gliders. Kill the two enemies and then look at the glider nearest the cliff. You want to get prone by this and equip your sniper rifle (If you don't have a sniper, play the mission before this and pick one up from any guard tower). Look across the lake then up the hill, you will see two guys on a round concrete structure, about 550-600m away. All you have to do now is line a headshot up and shoot (use to hold your breath). You don't need to account for bullet drop or the wind. The trophy will unlock shortly afterwards if you achieved a headshot.

On the right side of the scope visual for the zoomed-in sniper, the game shows the distance of your current target. No need to guess at the distance. If you are under 500m, just back up until you're over. Remember that the sniper in a one shot kill to most enemies, so aim for the forehead to avoid a kill shot anywhere else on the body.

Oceanic Vista
Score 1 kill each from a land, maritime and aerial vehicle. (5)

You need to get a kill with the following:

  • Car - You can run somebody over or shoot them for it to count as a kill.
  • Glider - You need to shoot somebody while you are on the glider. You can find a glider at the start of the "Pier" mission.
  • Boat - You can either shoot somebody form the dingy, or use the guns on a patrol boat

Once you get a kill with all 3 of them the trophy will unlock.

Bonding Experiences
In Bunker, make the Mercs and the caged Trigens mingle with each other (3)

Near the end of the mission titled "Bunker" you will come to an area where Doyle will mention making a distraction. You will see enemies and 6 trigen in cages on the other side of a window. Simply head up the stairs to the left and then pull the switch at the top. This will open up the trigen cages down below and will also unlock the trophy shortly afterwards.
