Introduction:

Escape Dead Island is an adventure survival horror that takes place between the events of Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide. The game has an emphasis on stealth and melee combat, with a small amount of gun play. Unlike the previous two titles which were first person, Escape Dead Island is played in third person. The developers, Fatshark, describe the game as a spin-off from the main game series. The game features cell-shaded graphics, which are starkly different to the more realistic graphics of the first two Dead Island titles.

You play as Cliff Calo, a journalist who has traveled to the island of Narapela, which forms part of the Banoi archipelago, with his two friends, Linda Waterson and Devan Mavropani. The three of them are journalists and are on a mission to document and report on the unexplained and rumoured events of the island.

The trophy list is quite similar to the other two Dead Island titles. The vast majority revolve around story progression, collectibles and zombie killing. The game features A New Game + system which allows the carry over of collectibles (see New Game + section below for more details). You will need to play through the game twice for the platinum. However, the game isn’t very long and there are only a few tricky areas of the game, but they shouldn’t pose much of a challenge.

Step 1 - Complete the game whilst finding all collectibles

For this step, you will simply play through the game whilst obtaining as many collectibles and kill related trophies as you can. In total, there are 138 collectibles that need to be collected for the platinum. All collectibles can be obtained on your first playthrough, however, you will need to play through the game twice so do not worry if you miss something on your first playthrough as all collectibles carry over to subsequent playthroughs. Consult the trophy guide for the requirements for the kill related trophies as some of these won’t come naturally, and it is best to start on them early. If at any stage during the game you do not know what your current objective is, you can hold down and this will display a marker at where you are meant to proceed towards.

There is no post game exploration. The point of no return is during Mission 10 when you enter the Villa. Once inside, you can no longer explore the island. The game gives you no indication of this, so make sure you have collected all collectibles up until this point either on your first or second playthrough. If you still need collectibles from within the Villa on your second playthrough, make sure to carefully pick them all up, otherwise you will need to do a complete third playthrough to get back to this area.

At the end of this step you will have unlocked the following story related trophies:

Undercover
Bon Voyage
Welcome To The Jungle
Hard Rain
A For Effort
Live Together, Die Alone
Sign Of Good Faith
Autodefenestration
On The Rocks
Showdown
Crossing The Rubicon
Mind Over Mind
What A Trip!

In addition to the above, you should also unlock the following trophies:

The Narapela Massacre
Dead Is Dead
Zombie Killing 101
Deadly Arts
Deadeye
Bloodsplosion
Mid-Air Mutilation
Right Back At Ya!
Oh Shut Up!
Learn The Ropes
Anchorman
Through The Mist
Lightbringer
Shutterbug
The Butcher Of Narapela
Voice Com
Super Sleuth
Horror Stories
The Puppet Master
Card Collector
What Happened, Happened
Locked And Loaded
Conviction
Wow Much Ninja Very Sneak
Thrillseeker
The Smorgasbord

Step 2 - Complete New Game + and trophy clean up

For this step, you will be completing the game a second time, whilst cleaning up any collectibles or kill related trophies that are outstanding from your first playthrough/step 1. There is no difference in difficulty between the two playthroughs. Be sure that you have obtained every collectible available in the game before Mission 10, before entering the Villa during this mission, as once you enter you cannot explore the rest of the island.

At the end of this step you will have unlocked the following trophies:

And Back Again
Pure Platinum

NG+ notes:

  • New Game + will automatically start once you the credits have finished at the end of your first playthrough.
  • All collectibles you obtained in the first playthrough will carry over to NG+.
  • All progression towards kill related trophies carry over to NG+.
  • Weapons do not carry over from playthroughs. However, in Mission 1 when on the yacht, you can find a Katana in the bathroom which will help up until you acquire another melee weapon.
  • There is no noticeable difference in difficulty between NG and NG+. All Health, Ammo pack and weapon upgrade locations are the same.

Underwater Labs DLC:

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 3/10 (personal opinion)
  • Offline trophies: 10 (7, 3)
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: An additional 4-5 hours of game time
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: only 1 playthrough of DLC is needed. You can do this in conjunction with your first playthrough or NG+ playthrough of the main game to avoid a 3rd overall playthrough.
  • Number of missable trophies: They are all missable. The game does not have a chapter select and if you miss something in the labs, you cannot go back in and get it. You will have to start a whole new game. Furthermore, if you miss a hatch before going into the Villa in chapter 10 during the main story you cannot go back and get it.
  • Glitched trophies: Possibly Deep One (see below)
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: N/A
  • Do trophies stack?: N/A
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: N/A

Introduction:
Underwater Labs is a FREE DLC for Escape from Dead Island. The DLC can be played in conjunction with playing the main game. As a matter of fact you have to play it while playing the main game as their is no option to just play the DLC.

If you are just starting the game for the first time or getting ready to do your New Game+ run for the platinum, then you can knock this out while you do it. A second plus is that a rare zombie type called sirens appear frequently in the underground labs which can help you get that kill trophy. On the main game sirens appear infrequently and this gives you more opportunities to get those kills while they scream. Lastly, completing the DLC will give you 2 new guns that can help you complete the game. The assault rifle is really powerful. It uses shotgun shells, has a 20 bullet clip size, and it has automatic fire.

NOTE: If you have finished your first and New Game+ playthroughs, then you will have to start another new playthrough for a third time. Furthermore, Once you complete the Underwater Labs you will not have access to them again. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you follow my Guide as to not miss any collectables to avoid a whole new playthrough or have to start over.

WARNING: I was at the end of chapter 9 and the beginning of chapter 10 on my New Game + run when I installed the DLC. I went to all the hatches but the one on the beach was closed, they should all be open once installing the DLC so I believe this was a glitch. It was ugly because that was the last lab I went to. I did all the work only to have to quit and start a new game. Upon starting the new game I went to the beach first and opened it fine and finished my run. Also if you fail to get enough kills with the 2 new guns (and by chapter 10 I didn't get 100 kills with the Assault rifle, bullet limitation & number of enemies led to this) then the only way to get more would be to go all the way to the end of the game beat it so kills count then do a new game + (starting all over and having to reacquire the weapons to increase kill count).

Because of these problems, it is highly recommended that you simply start a new game or that you are at the start of your 1st game or new game + before going for these trophies. This is to avoid the possibility of a lab hatch glitching and not opening for you and so you can have enough enemies and ammo to finish off the 100 assault rifle kills.

[Step 0: Disclaimer & Set-up - Before you begin the DLC]

If you followed my recommendation you are in a new game (if not you can try to apply these strategies for where you are and hopefully don't encounter the Beach hatch glitch). Open the first 3 hatches early so that they don't glitch on you and make sure they open before putting in a lot of play time.

Hatch 1. After getting off the boat and your first task is to talk to Jill, run past her you will see a large rock before you get to the bar. Behind this rock on the main beach is the hatch, click to make sure it opens. You cannot go down to the lab yet without a flashlight, just make sure it opens. I did much work only to return to this hatch last and it wouldn't open. Aggravating me and making me have to start a whole new game.

Hatch 2. You will find this hatch when climbing down the rope to go to the Marina the first time. Instead of going to the Marina through the fence, go the opposite direction and follow the ocean to the 2nd hatch. You will again open it but cannot go down until we get the flashlight.

Hatch 3 (The Underground Labs: Main DLC hatch). On your way to the airfield after exiting a cave you will find yourself in the Geopharm Complex area. You can go left off the main path and notice a small lab building that you don't have a keycard for and the 3rd hatch. You can again open it but cannot go down until you get the flashlight.

[Step 1: Play the game to acquire the flashlight]
After you opened those 3 hatches, you now need to play the game up to the point where your task is to "turn off the power in order to locate the 3 key cards for the airfield". You will acquire the flashlight (this is mission 6 in the main story), the flashlight is the only thing needed from the main game to access the Underground Lab and Secondary Underground labs. After completing this task go ahead and get the first and second keycard. You will then be tasked to get the third one at the Helipad.

[Step 2: Open the 1st hatch located at the main BEACH]
Instead of going straight to the Helipad. First back track to the main beach. Go down the hatch and there will be one room in which you can grab a health kit.

[Step 3: Open the 4th hatch located at the HELIPAD]
Now simply follow your objective indicator and go to the Helipad for the third keycard. After the freight elevator and coming out of a cave on your way there you will see the 4th hatch literally in front of you. Open it and climb down. In a room down there you will pick up the walloper. This gun will use pistol ammo, only one round at a time, slow to reload, and hard to aim with cross hair from a distance; in other words it's not very good. However, you will now use it until you get 10 distant kills while progressing farther. Easiest things to kill with it are unaware zombies, slow shamblers, and spitters. Continue back to the airfield with the 3 keycards and get the Labs keycard.

After this Step you will earn the trophies:

Lil Slugger
  Hail Mary

[Step 4: Open the 3rd hatch located at the Geopharms Complex]
Continue to follow your main story objective to the labs. On your way back to the Geopharms Complex, go to the 3rd Hatch you opened earlier. This is the Main Labs Hatch of the DLC. You will find the assault rifle, Dwellers (a new zombie type), & 10 out of the 11 logs needed to be collected. Before acquiring the Assault rifle try to finish off any walloper kills you need for Hail Mary trophy. However, once you get the Assault Rifle use it exclusively to get your 100 kills first. If you didn't finish the walloper resume working on those kills only after the 100 Assault rifle kills. You will also want to focus on killing a dweller with stealth and the environment once down here. There are only 4-5 encounters with dwellers and once you leave the underground labs there will be no more dwellers without a new playthrough from the beginning.

After this Step you will earn the trophies:

Lab Rat
It's Super Effective
Apex Predator
Duty Calls
Praise the Light!

[Step 5: Play the story through the Labs killing with Assault rifle]
After exiting the DLC underground lab, resume working on the main story objective and go through the Geopharm Labs. (This is mission 7 of the main story) I had my 100 kills before exiting these labs.

After this Step you will earn the trophy:

Blaster From The Past

[Step 6: Open the 2nd hatch located at the Marina]
After exiting the Geopharm Lab, resume working on the story objective and go to the Marina. (This will be mission 8 of the main story). Remember to crawl through the fence to get where the 2nd hatch was along the ocean. Go down the hatch. In the only room down there is the 11th log. Collect this log. this should get you 100% on DLC.

After this Step you will earn the trophies:

Deep one
Memorial

Pure Platinum
Acquire all other trophies. (2)

Congratulations! You’ve survived the horrors of the island while searching every inch of it, you deserve this.

The Narapela Massacre
Kill 100 zombies in total.

This trophy will come through natural progression through the game. You will easily unlock this trophy in a single playthrough. It does not matter what method you kill zombies, so feel free to use melee, firearm, stealth and execution methods. There is no way to track your progression with this trophy; it will simply unlock once you reach 100 kills.

Zombie Killing 101
Kill 50 zombies using a melee weapon.

You will acquire your first melee weapon at the start of Mission 4, and it will serve as your primary weapon which you attack and kill zombies. You can use both quick attack () or heavy attack (). This trophy will unlock through natural progression through the game.

Dead Is Dead
Execute 25 downed zombies.

In order to execute a zombie, you must first knock them to the ground. To do this, simply run by holding and then kick with when you get close to them. You can also sometimes knock the zombies down using your heavy attack or consecutive light attacks. Once they are knocked to the ground, stand near them and press when prompted to perform an execution.

Deadly Arts
Stealth kill 25 zombies.

In order to stealth kill a zombie, you must approach them from behind without being detected whilst you are crouching. The exclamation mark above the zombies head will indicate their awareness of your presence. Once the exclamation mark has filled, the zombie will know your location. In order to crouch, press , and once you are behind the zombie, press to perform a stealth kill.

Deadeye
Kill 25 zombies with pistol headshots.

You will acquire the pistol in Mission 5 whilst defending the Airfield. To equip the pistol, press . Once equipped, hold to aim and press to shoot. For this trophy, you must kill 25 zombies with headshot. A headshot with the pistol will take two shots to the head. You will know when you have obtained a headshot with the pistol as the game will briefly slow down as the zombies head explodes.

Note:
If you die, all progression towards this trophy obtained from your last checkpoint will be lost.

Bloodsplosion
Kill 10 zombies with close range shotgun blasts. (1)

You will acquire the shotgun in Mission 7. To equip the shotgun, press . Once equipped, hold to aim and press to shoot. As the description says, all you need to do is kill zombies with the shotgun from very close range. You’ll know you’ve done it correctly when the game slows down after you’ve shot them.

Note:
If you die, all progression towards this trophy obtained from your last checkpoint will be lost.

Mid-Air Mutilation
Kill an airborne Bouncer. (10)

Bouncer’s are the shirtless fast zombies with brown hair that you first meet in Mission 5 after coming down from the Mountaintop area. They will charge and jump at you on occasions, and it’s during this jump that you’ll need to strike the killing blow. There are a few locations where this is easier to do than others. In the labs, you will open a door and see a bouncer and a shambler eating a corpse. Injure the bouncer with the pistol to quite low health and then switch to a shotgun. You’ll then need to lure him into jumping towards you and shoot him in the air. If you fail, either let the zombies kill you or walk back and get electrocuted to death and try again.

This trophy is quite glitchy and may take a few tries. I killed him several times by shooting him in the leg while in the air, but no trophy. I found shooting in the chest whilst jumping finally made it pop. Keep trying and you’ll get this. The bouncer will also not jump at you if you’ve removed both of it’s arms.

Right Back At Ya!
Kill 10 Spitters with a ranged weapon.

You will first encounter Spitters in Mission 5 while you’re defending the Airfield. They are covered in a green slime and spit a green poisonous substances from a distance. For this trophy, you must kill them with ranged weapons, i.e. firearms. You will encounter a lot more than 10 Spitter enemies throughout the game, so this trophy will likely unlock naturally. However, prioritise killing them with your guns to ensure you unlock the trophy. This trophy is cumulative across playthroughs.

Note:
If you die, all progression towards this trophy obtained from your last checkpoint will be lost.

Oh Shut Up!
Kill 5 Sirens while they are screaming. (4)

You will first encounter the Siren enemy type in Mission 6, when acquiring the second key card from the Villa. Sirens will frequently scream when you encounter them, which causes your vision to blur and your aim to wobble. You must kill 5 Sirens during their scream. This is easiest to do with a gun. Try to get a headshot on them before they have spotted you to get their health down slightly and keep your gun aimed at them ready to shoot. Once they start screaming, quickly shoot them to kill them. The scream lasts around 2 seconds, so you need to be relatively quick. This trophy is cumulative across playthroughs.

Note:
Most sirens will only scream 2 or 3 times and then start to just focus on attacking you, so try to finish them quickly. If you die, all progression towards this trophy obtained from your last checkpoint will be lost.

Learn The Ropes
Acquire the rope.

Story related, cannot be missed.

You will acquire the rope early in Mission 3 when you sneak past the first zombie you encounter and enter the small building. It is in the corner.

Anchorman
Acquire the grappling hook.

Story related, cannot be missed.

You will acquire the grappling hook in Mission 8. As you make your way down the road into the Docks, there will be a small building directly in front of you with a yellow cross on the door. When you get close, it will burst open, and a zombie will emerge. Kill the zombie and then go into the room, and the grappling hook will be on the table next to the radio.

Through The Mist
Acquire the gas mask.

Story related, cannot be missed.

You will acquire the gas mask during Mission 7 when inside the Geopharm research labs.

Lightbringer
Acquire the combat flashlight.

Story related, cannot be missed.

During Mission 6, you will make it to a Dr’s house and be given the objective to find three key cards. Head down the stairs of this house where the screen will start to fade to black, but directly in front of you on the shelves will be the flashlight. Once you pick it up, you be able to see in dark areas.

Shutterbug
Acquire the camera.

Story related, cannot be missed.

You will acquire the camera at the beginning of Mission 1 - Smooth Sailing. After speaking to Linda and giving her her voice recorder, go to the back of the yacht and the camera is located just behind the Devan. Once the cutscene has finished, the trophy will unlock.

The Butcher Of Narapela
Kill 10 Butchers.

You will first encounter the Butcher enemy type towards the end of Mission 6. These are by far the toughest enemies in the game, as they can block all of your attacks. The best way to defeat this initial Butcher is by melee. You want to stay locked onto them the entire time, which is done by holding . Butchers defences are down once they have finished their attack. Firstly, in order to avoid their attack, press to dodge and use the to direct which way you want to dodge to. Attack with once there is an opening. The butcher will eventually start to block your attacks by crossing his arms across his chest. This not only blocks your attacks, but is charging up his powerful spin attack. Once he crosses his arms make sure to back away and then start attacking again once he’s finished spinning.

For every subsequent location in which you encounter Butchers in the game, the easiest way to kill them is by a stealth kill. This may require a bit of trial and error at first as you don’t know when you will encounter one, but once you find out their location, make it a priority to sneak up to them and kill them first. Once you have defeated 10 Butchers, the trophy will unlock. This trophy is cumulative across playthroughs.

Note:
If you die, all progression towards this trophy obtained from your last checkpoint will be lost.

Voice Com
Acquire the two-way radio.

Story related, cannot be missed.

You will acquire the two-way radio during Mission 4 when you reach the top of the Mountain. Once the cutscene of you trying to communicate to the person on the other end of the radio finishes, the trophy will unlock.

The Puppet Master

Card Collector

What Happened, Happened
Collect all snapshots. (4)

In total there are 138 collectibles that you must collect in the game. These come in the form of snapshots, research logs, lost stories, and charon’s logs. Collectibles can be tracked at the main menu of the game under ‘Gallery’. All collectibles can be obtained on your first playthrough, but don’t worry if you miss some as they carry over between playthroughs.

  • 86 Snapshots
  • 12 Postcards
  • 12 Research logs
  • 12 Lost stories
  • 16 Charon’s logs

Please refer to our collectible guide HERE for a complete text walkthrough of the locations of all collectibles in the game required for the platinum. It’s worth noting that there is a fifth type of collectible, ‘Geopharm files’, however, they are not required for any trophies and thus their locations in the game have been excluded from the guide.

Locked And Loaded
Collect 25 ammo packs.

This will come through natural progression. Ammo packs will be lying around in various locations throughout the game; just pick them up as you go and you will get this quite quickly.

Conviction
Kill 5 enemies in 2 seconds. (3)

The best place to get this is when you first get the pistol and have to defend Xian Mei at the airfield. There will be 5 zombies that come and attack you. Injure each zombie so that they have around a quarter or less health left and then lure them towards one of the many red barrels in the area. Shoot the barrel to set it off and make sure the zombies stay in its radius. When it explodes, all 5 should die and the trophy will be yours. If they don’t all die, then let yourself be killed and try again.

Alternative locations -

Location #1: At the end of the staff village area during Mission 6, you will gain a flashlight. Once you exit this room by breaking the barricade, there will be 5 zombies in an outside courtyard and an explosive barrel to the left. Weaken them all slightly and then get them close to the barrel before shooting it.

Location #2: On your way to the helipad for the third key card during Mission 6, you will ride up a service lift. During the second wave of zombies that fall from the ceiling, don’t kill any until they have all spawned. Repeat the process of weakening them before shooting the barrel located in the middle of the lift.

Wow Much Ninja Very Sneak
Kill 10 enemies in a row without being detected. (11)

Each enemy you encounter in the game will have an exclamation mark over their head. If the exclamation mark is clear or yellow then they have not yet detected you; once they think they can see or hear you, it will turn red and start to fill. It will not count as you having been detected until a zombie’s exclamation mark has filled red. In order to unlock this trophy, you must kill 10 enemy zombies in a row without being detected, i.e. without the exclamation mark over their head turning completely red.

You can let the bar fill to any other point just as long as it doesn’t fill completely. Letting the bar fill slightly can be beneficial as when it reaches around halfway the zombie will slowly start to walk towards where it thinks it saw something. You can use this to lure a zombie into an easier position to stealth kill.

One of the easiest locations to get this that we found was during Mission 5 as you make your way to the airfield. After you climb down the mountain, you will see a small bridge in front of you with a zombie on it. Around this area, you should spot a couple of zombies eating a man in a car and then several more in the car park area of the labs. There will be some more on the path towards the Airfield and one near the small out building near a hatch. There are locations where this is possible, but this was the easiest I found.

Alternative locations -

Location #1: When riding the service lift on the way to the helipad during Mission 6, numerous zombies will drop from the ceiling. Stay crouched by pressing and then quickly move around the room and stealth kill them from behind by pressing . If you get spotted or fail some other way, let the zombies kill you and then restart from the previous checkpoint.

Thrillseeker
Recover to max health from minimum health.

This will probably come naturally as you play the game, but there is an easy spot to get it early on. During Mission 3, you will wake up in a container and will be told to head to the Marina. Instead of going right to the Marina, head left to see a tunnel filled with green gas. Walk towards the gas until you start taking damage, then as soon as you hear your heartbeat walk back out. Stand still for a moment and you’ll recover your health and get the trophy.

The Smorgasbord
Injure a single zombie with your melee weapon, the pistol and the shotgun, then stealth kill it. (2)

This is best done on a Spitter as they have quite a bit of health and are easier to lose once you’ve been detected than the other more dangerous zombie types. Use a basic melee attack and then shoot him in the leg with both the pistol and the shotgun. Hopefully it will be left with a small slither of health. Now you need to get some distance between you and crouch behind cover until the Spitter’s detection meter starts to go down. Now sneak up and finish him with a stealth attack.

What A Trip!

And Back Again
Complete new game+. (2)

Story related, cannot be missed.

You will obtain this trophy once you have completed the game a second time through. There appears to be no difference in difficulty between the two playthroughs. If anything, this playthrough should be slightly easier as you know where enemies are located and how to get past them

Live Together, Die Alone

Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you make it to the Airfield, you will have to fight off numerous zombies and be introduced to a new type of zombie, the Spitter. Once you defeat the zombies and the cutscene that follows has ended, the trophy will unlock.

Sign Of Good Faith

Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you reach the Marina and the boat, Cliff will go into another hallucination. Once this has finished and the cutscene begins, the trophy will unlock.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you finish killing the zombies on the helipad, you will enter a hallucination and fight a zombie version of Linda. She is most easily defeated by quickly shooting her consecutively with either the shotgun or pistol. Once the fight is over and the cutscene begins, the trophy will unlock.

Crossing The Rubicon
Complete Mission 10 - Faith.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you reach Emory Crown’s office, you will get bitten by your zombie friend Devan. Once the cutscene begins the trophy will unlock.

Mind Over Mind
Complete Mission 11 - Deliverance.

Story related, cannot be missed.

After fighting off wave after wave of zombies, you will fight a shadow version of the large monster you’ve seen several times during the game. Once he’s defeated, destroy the orb and a cutscene will play. The trophy will pop during this.

Blunt Trauma
Acquire your first melee weapon.

Story related, cannot be missed.

At the start of Mission 4, you will be in a shipping container. Pick up the melee weapon on the table on your right and the trophy will unlock.

Hatchet Man
Upgrade your melee weapon.

In Mission 6, you can find an Axe early in the mission in the Staff Village. Once you ride the elevator at the start of the mission, head outside and down the stairs. Go around the barricade ahead of you and then head down some more stairs. Wrap around to the left, and you will find this axe sitting on a workbench.

A Real Weapon
Upgrade your melee weapon again!

You can find your second upgraded weapon during Mission 6 as you make your way to the Helipad in search of the third key card. As you proceed through the dark hallways, you will emerge in a warehouse area. Xian Mei will talk to you over the radio and tell you to take the service lift up. In this room, head to the right and in the corner behind some boxes, will be this weapon on a work bench. Pick it up to unlock the trophy.

Top Of The Line
Upgrade your melee weapon for the third time. Yeah!

The third and final upgrade to your melee weapon is called the Lever Axe and can be acquired during Mission 8 in the Warehouse at the Marine. When you go down the lift, head to the left and then rappel down using your rope. Once at the bottom in the toxic gas, head all the way to the right and you will find this weapon sitting on a work bench.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Cutting Edge
Upgrade your stealth kill weapon. (1)

In order to upgrade your stealth kill weapon, you must find an improved version of your first stealth kill weapon. At the start of Mission 5, you will be crawling through a cave area. Once you go down a couple of ladders, there will be a discrete path on your right. Head up here, and you will find a corpse and an upgraded stealth kill weapon. The upgraded stealth kill weapon will kill the zombies in a single hit when they are stealth killed from behind.

Armed And Ready

At the end of Mission 5 you will be at the Airfield. You will be given the gun by a female NPC in which you meet. Once you use it following the cutscene, the trophy will unlock.

Silent Death
Upgrade the pistol.

The upgraded pistol, Silenced Pistol, can be acquired in Mission 7 when you are in the Geopharm Research Labs. Once you have progressed a little way, you will come to a room with three zombies in it, one will have a keycard that you need to get. Once obtained, open the door on the left then through the door at the end of this small corridor. Proceed through this strange room and then open the door to reach a meeting room. The Silenced Pistol will be in here sitting on a work bench.

DLC: Underwater Labs
Cost: TBD Trophies: 10

Deep One
Find all the underground secondary areas (3)

Possibly GLITCHED. When I started the DLC in the in the middle of my New Game + playthrough, Hatch 1 (at the Beach) would not open. However, I started a new game and it worked fine.

Get the flashlight and enter four hatches found in the game. These are the four hatches and the order you would find them while playing the game:

Hatch 1: The Beach
It is on the beach where you first arrived on the island, between the abandoned hut and the bar. It is behind a large rock.

Hatch 2: The Marina
When climbing down the rope to the Marina the hatch is by the ocean.

Hatch 3: Geopharms Complex
It is found after exiting a cave, to the left, in the bushes off the trail.

Hatch 4: The Helipad
After exiting the freight elevator, you'll go through some caves. It will be right in front of you when you exit the cave.

After entering the fourth hatch, the trophy will pop.

Lab Rat
Find the underground lab (1)

After entering Hatch 3 at the Geopharms Complex, the trophy will pop.

Praise The Light!
Complete the underground labs (2)

After exiting Hatch 3 at the Geopharms Complex area, the trophy will pop. You will exit automatically after a final climactic fight, water rushing in and zombies coming up out of the hatches on the ground. Survive this event to earn the trophy.

Lil Slugger
Acquire the walloper (2)

After entering Hatch 4, in the Helipad area you can pick up this weapon in the only room down there. Once you pick it up the trophy will pop.

Duty Calls
Acquire the assault rifle (1)

After entering Hatch 3, in the Geopharms Complex area you can pick up this weapon in the second room with dwellers. It will be on a dead security guard in a chair next to log #3. Once you pick it up the trophy will pop.

Hail Mary
Kill 10 enemies at long range with the walloper (3)

The walloper is a slow loading, one bullet in the chamber gun that uses pistol ammo. It's not recommended to kill fast guys running after you or a hoard.

Main Targets:

  • Target any unaware zombies kneeling down eating people.
  • Target spitters as they don't run after you.
  • Target shamblers, as they are very slow and easy to keep your distance should you need a second shot.
  • Target any zombies trapped behind barriers.
Blaster From The Past
Kill 100 enemies with the assault rifle (1)

Kill everything you can in the underground labs with this weapon once you get it. On high health enemies like butchers and dwellers, when you are able to, I advise you to weaken them with melee or pistol shots first, then finish them off with the Assault rifle to conserve ammo. Head shots will also help conserve ammo. You probably will not have this trophy after leaving the underground labs. You will need to get the few remaining kills by continuing the main story until the trophy pops.

NOTE: To prevent another playthrough it is recommended that you concentrate on getting these 100 kills as fast as possible. Which also means you should try to acquire this gun as soon as possible to start your kill count quickly. Following this Guide will enable you to get the gun as soon as you can.

Memorial
Collect all of Ronald's logs (2)

The logs appear on reel-to-reel tape machines with glowing spots around them, there are a total of 11 logs you must collect for the trophy. There are 10 logs in Hatch 3 at the Geopharms Complex and 1 log in Hatch 2 at the Marina.

Here they are in order of a walkthrough that you will encounter them:

GO INTO HATCH 3: AT THE GEOPHARMS COMPLEX

Area 1:

  • Log #1: After crouching you'll enter your first room with this one
  • Log #2: In the room with your first Dweller encounter
  • Log #3 and the Assault Rifle: After your second Dweller encounter go up the stairs or ladder. you will see a dead security guard with the assault rifle. Right next to him is the 3rd log.

WARNING: You will now continue on the path until finding a spiral staircase. Once you go down the stair case water will crash in from the ceiling and start to flood the area. If you don't have 3 logs at this point, then don't go down those stairs because it is a point of no return. Backtrack and find the log(s) you missed. If you missed one and go down those stairs, you will have to restart the whole game from the beginning as once you leave these labs you cannot return.

Area 2:

  • Log #7: After crawling through an air vent go left, up a ladder, you will come to a room with a yellow handled valve. In the next room will be the log.
  • Log #5: Continue to follow the path past a pool. With a ladder down and two vents. One vent takes you back to where you were. The other will be a vent to a room with a siren, spitters, and a few others. The log is in this room.
  • Log #4: In a room with a switch and a ladder down. After going down the ladder into an area with a reddish glow. There will be two vents one in front and behind you. Go into the vent with boxes all around it.
  • Log #6: Back track and take the vent you chose not to take from log #4. It will be in the next room.

WARNING: You will now continue on the path until finding a door you must "Mash" to open. If you don't have 7 logs at this point, then don't go through that door. It is a point of no return. Backtrack and find the log(s) you missed. If you missed one and go through that door then you will have to restart the whole game from the beginning because once you leave these labs, you cannot return.

Area 3:

  • Log #8: In the 2nd bedroom after taking the transport to the third area of the labs.
  • Log #9: In a large room with a tree in the center of it after the bedrooms.
  • Log #10: You will come to a room with 3 dwellers in it. You must push a button to open a door to the next room. After dispatching the dwellers, push the button the log is in the next room.
GO INTO HATCH 2: AT THE MARINA
  • Log #11: In the only room down this hatch

After collecting the last log, the trophy will pop.

It's Super Effective!
Kill a Dweller using an environment hazard (1)

Easiest spot is the 1st dweller encounter. There are some electric cords in a puddle of water right before you get to him. Alert him by making noise then run over to the electric cord. Once in it, he seems to get stuck and unable to get out so just watch him die. If he does get out just run him in again. Once he dies then the trophy will pop.

Another easy spot is the second dweller encounter. You will come across two spitters and have to turn off the electric at a switch to progress; up ahead and down some stairs are two dwellers. Shoot one pistol shot at the top of the stairs to alert them. When it comes running, immediately turn around and back track to hit the switch and turn the electric back on. Return to the sparking electricity on the floor and shoot one more pistol shot. The dweller will come running into the electricity and eventually die.

Apex Predator
Stealth kill a Dweller (2)

I got this on the second dweller encounter but it can be done anywhere. Sneaking up on them is a little like playing red light-green light. Sneak towards him, when he stops moving and seemingly sniffs around (RED LIGHT) you need to stop moving. He will then get up and walk again (GREEN LIGHT), that's when you can continue sneaking towards him. When close enough stealth kill him and earn the trophy.

There is also alternative method for stealth killing them. In some locations you can use a log or a generator to attract them. If you turn on a generator it rumbles and any dweller in the area will run to it. This also works with the Ronald's logs you are collecting. They play a tape out loud in the environment, thus attracting any dweller in the area when you collect them. When they are attracted to the noise you can sneak up on them and stealth kill them. There are a few locations where this method is possible.

Tip: You could do the above mentioned strategy on the first dweller encounter with the log#2 near it. Play the log, attract the dweller, stealth kill it and pop the trophy. Then kill yourself in the electric cords. Respawn and do the environmental kill with the electric cords on the same dweller to quickly knock out both trophies on the first dweller. Remember to reacquire the log though as when you die you will have to collect it again.
