Introduction:

Blackwood Crossing is a nice and short single-player game where the story holds a very important place. You see through the eyes of Scarlett, following her little brother Finn on a train ride during which you'll encounter mysterious things related to love, magic and even death.

The game is very short, pretty straightforward with a few puzzles that shouldn't pose any problem to anyone over the age of 6. Therefore, it's an easy peasy platinum.

The game can be completed in a single playthrough if you use the quit/continue trick (see the Carthasis or Redemption trophy for more information).

There are 8 story-related trophies and 15 missable trophies that require specific action and/or inspecting objects. Fortunately, the game is really short and can be rushed in an hour or so, so if you happen to miss a trophy, don't worry about starting a second playthrough. Also, Pure Folly seems to be glitching on some people, see trophy description for more information.

You'll encounter some pretty simple puzzles during the course of the game. Some consist of talking to "people" in the right order, finding a password (again, by doing something in the right order), finding not-so-well hidden items, etc. If you're stuck at some point, try to inspect story-related elements or listen to what Scarlett and Finn have to say!

Walkthrough:

Note that Blackwood Crossing does not have chapter select, so if you miss a trophy, you will need to start a new game and play until you get it. I have listed the trophies in the order they need to be unlocked.

Step 1: First Playthrough

Simply play through the game trying to find every rabbit, poster and inspecting every item you come across. During this step, you should acquire most if not all of the trophies. If you struggle with the collectible ones (rabbits/posters), just refer to the videos in the trophy guide.

Here is the order in which you should earn the trophies during this step:

Simon Says: Don't lose (missable)
Simon Says: Good to Go
Pull the other one (missable)
Guitar man (missable)
Green Fingered
Prize draw (missable)
Good kitty (missable)
You spin me right round (missable)
Life Giver
Doodle dandy (missable)
Fire Starter
Catharsis (missable)
Redemption (missable)
Pure Folly
Alas, Poor Isaac! (missable)
Who's the daddy? (missable)
Big Cheater (missable)
A moment captured (missable)
Dark Destroyer
Poster Club (missable)
Not a happy bunny (missable)
Masquerade
Platinum Trophy

Alternatively, you can follow rus199410's video for a platinum walkthrough HERE.

Step 2: Clean up

If you've missed something (rabbit/poster, object), start a new game as there is no chapter selection available. Remember that the collectibles trophies need to be done in a single playthrough.

Platinum Trophy
A full Trophy cabinet

Unlocks after collecting all the other trophies.

Simon Says: Don't lose
Can you beat this nostalgic game?

Obtained right at the start of the game, first time you meet Finn. Play Simon Says with Finn and do not let him repeat himself once. If you're too slow and Finn repeats an order, just quit the game and restart.

Here's a short video if you wish to know what to expect:

Catharsis
Set Finn's emotions free

After progressing through the story and obtaining the ability to manipulate fire (See Fire Starter trophy), you will come back to the tree house. There, Finn will wait for you and kind of "explode", setting 4 piles of stuff on fire.

Simply go outside, draw fire (L2) from the brasier then add it (R2) to a burning pile. Repeat for the other 3 piles and you'll get the trophy.

After obtaining the trophy, the game won't autosave until after you speak to Finn again, so just quit the game and reload it by selecting "Continue" in the main menu. You'll start again at the bottom of the ladder leading to the tree house, allowing you to go for the Redemption trophy without starting a whole new playthrough!

This trophy is technically missable as you can mix drawing/adding fire from/to the brasier or the burning piles, thus voiding both Catharsis and Redemption trophies.

See this video if you're totally lost:

Redemption
Redeem your mistakes

After progressing through the story and obtaining the ability to manipulate fire (See Fire Starter trophy), you will come back to the tree house. There, Finn will wait for you and kind of explode, setting 4 piles of stuff on fire.

Simply draw fire (L2) from one pile and add it (R2) to the brasier outside. Repeat for the other 3 piles and you'll get the trophy.

After obtaining the trophy, the game won't autosave until after you speak to Finn again, so just quit the game and reload it by selecting "Continue" in the main menu, you'll start again at the bottom of the ladder leading to the tree house, allowing you to go for the Catharsis trophy without starting a whole new playthrough!

This trophy is technically missable as you can mix drawing/adding fire from/to the brasier or the burning piles, thus voiding both Catharsis and Redemption trophies.

See this video if you're totally lost:

Masquerade
Collect your mask from Finn

Story Related, cannot be missed.

This is the final story-related trophy that you'll get, after waking up (again!) in the train and seeing the mask Finn made for you.

Big Cheater
Look for Finn as quickly as you can

Once you are in Finnland (Finn's "island"), after completing the "4 pieces" quest, Finn will ask you to count to 1000 to play hide and seek. Just select the highest number (with the D-Pad) so that you reach 1000 as fast as possible to get this trophy.

Poster Club
Inspect all the film posters in the game

There are 9 movie posters related to Finn in the game and you have to inspect them (with ) all in a single playthrough. They are in plain sight and almost impossible to miss, but in case you'd want a video guide, check the video below (spoiler alert!).

Alas, Poor Isaac!
Uncover Isaac's past secrets

When you are in Finnland (Finn's "island"), you'll need to find 4 hidden items in order to proceed further with the story. Once the "quest" is activated, go find Isaac's tomb (can't miss it, the island is so small! plus there is a stuffed rabbit right in front of it) and inspect it with .

I tried interacting with the tomb before activating and after finishing the quest and couldn't be able to trigger the inspection, so it should be done during the quest.

A moment captured
Inspect this instant memory maker

After leaving Finnland via a dark tunnel, you'll be back in the tree house. Climb down the ladder and you'll need to draw the "Umbra" into the light (netting you the Dark Destroyer trophy). Facing the Umbra, turn around and you'll find a poster with a big rabbit's face, and an old camera sitting next to it. Pick up the camera with to get the trophy.

Who's the daddy?
An ego waiting to be found

When you are in Finnland (Finn's "island"), you'll need to find 4 hidden items in order to proceed further with the story. Once the "quest" is activated, just go find Isaac's father statue (can't miss it, the island is so small! plus there is one of the 4 items you need for said quest right next to it) and inspect it with .

I tried interacting with the statue before activating and after finishing the quest and couldn't be able to trigger the inspection, so it should be done during the quest.

Pure Folly
Find this fanciful hideout

Story Related, cannot be missed.

When you are in Finnland (Finn's "island"), you will need to find 4 hidden items in order to proceed further with the story. One of the items (piece of vase) is inside the folly.

Possible glitch: some people have reported that this trophy was glitched. If it didn't unlock for you, just quit the game and reload, you will be back at the beginning of Finnland and will be able to try to unlock the trophy again. See here for a video Guide to this trophy (credit to VidGamiacUnlocked for this):

Not a happy bunny
Find these weathered toys

There are 7 stuffed rabbits in the game and you have to pick them up ( ) all in a single playthrough. They are usually in plain sight and hard to miss, but in case you'd want a video guide, check the video below. (Spoiler alert!)

Good kitty
Inspect your purrrfect pet

The first time you go to the tree house, Finn will be drawing butterflies. Don't talk to him yet. Instead, have a look around the room to find a small statue of a cat on a shelf. Inspect it with to get the trophy.

Pull the other one
Inspect this emergency feature

While on the train, you'll be tasked to associate the "people" so that their speech is in the correct order. There is one particular emergency brake device that you can inspect ( ) on the wall during this time. It's the one next to the old teacher lady and the guy with the bag on his head.

You spin me right round
Inspect this moment in space

The first time you go to the tree house, Finn will be drawing butterflies. Don't talk to him yet. Instead, have a look around the room, climb up the ladder to access the "planetarium" and you will find a handmade lighting device on the ground. Inspect it with to get the trophy.

Doodle dandy
Find this moment of teenage fancy

After obtaining the Life Giver trophy, you'll be back in the train again. Look for Scarlett's sketchbook on a table inside one of the train compartments. Pick it up with to get the trophy.

Prize draw
Inspect this shared success

The first time you go to the tree house, Finn will be drawing butterflies. Don't talk to him yet. Instead, have a look around the room to find the art prize on a barrel. Inspect it with to get the trophy.

Simon Says: Good to Go
Complete your first adventure

Story Related, cannot be missed.

Obtained at the start of the game after playing Simon Says with Finn. You don't have to ace the game to obtain this trophy (but you will to unlock Simon Says: Don't lose).

Guitar man
Inspect this once loved instrument

Near the end of the train, when you need to find the password so that Finn lets you climb up the tree house, there will be a guitar on the lefthand side of the train. Inspect it with the to get the trophy.

Secret Trophies

Life Giver
Acquire your Life Powers

Story Related, cannot be missed.

After making the butterflies with Finn, he will break one then give it life. When he asks you to try, do so by pressing R2 and you'll get the trophy.

Fire Starter
Acquire your Pyrokinesis Powers

Story Related, cannot be missed.

When chasing Finn down the train, you'll come to a point where he spits fire all over you. Scarlett will then comment that it doesn't burn her and acquire the ability to control fire. That's when you'll get the trophy.

Dark Destroyer
Acquire your Umbrakinesis Powers

Story Related, cannot be missed.

Upon leaving Finnland, you'll come to a cave leading to the planetarium inside the tree house. Here, climb the ladder down and you'll face the "Umbra" that you'll have to draw with L2. Once done, you'll get the trophy.

Green Fingered
Find Grandad's refuge

Story Related, cannot be missed.

At the end of the train, when you need to find the password so that Finn lets you climb up the tree house, you'll have to go inside the "refuge" to get the last photograph. Upon entering, you'll get the trophy.
