Introduction:

Aer is an exploration/puzzle game by developer Forgotten Key and published by Daedelic Entertainment. It follows a bird-shifter girl named Auk during her pilgrimage to the Land of the Gods, as she attempts to save it from The Void.

Trophy-wise, this game is a cakewalk. All trophies will be unlocked either via natural story progression or by exploration. The only thing to really keep an eye on is Hide and Seek, as the timing for that is a bit iffy and actually differs based on which version of the game you're playing.

Maka91 has put together a map of trophy-related landmarks, which I've posted below. The red dots are miscellaneous exploration trophies, the blue dots are spirit animal locations, the yellow dots are where you will find temple keys, and the green dots are the actual temples.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Play the game, making sure to speak to Erin at the appropriate times

Simply play through the game. The only thing you need to worry about are the required times to speak to Erin – see Hide and Seek for more information on that. Otherwise, just clear the game. You can go for all of the exploration trophies here if you want but there is free-roam post game so it's not strictly necessary.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Light at the end of the tunnel
People's Haven
Hide and Seek
Knowledge for Power
Mausoleum of Ice
Equilibrium

...and likely:

Cartographer

Step 2: Clean up

If you didn't explore during your initial playthrough, now is the time to go for all the miscellaneous trophies so see each one for more information. Select Continue from the main menu and you will be just outside of the Creator's Shrine, with the entire game world at your disposal.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Attuned to the spirits
Mama?
Baa from the past
An uninvited guest
In the belly of the beast
Gaze into the abyss
Memorial
Written in stone
Condor condo
Tails of Stone
Antlers of Stone
Wings of Stone
Ripples on the surface

...and finally: Pilgrim ! Congratulations!

[PST Would Like To Thank themindisacity for this Roadmap]

Pilgrim
Explore the Land of Gods. (1)

Well done, Auk!

Attuned to the spirits
Speak to all of the spirit animals. (1)

There are three spirit animals you need to speak to. Note that one of them (the fox) will show up several times during natural story progression and speak to you but this does not count towards this trophy; you will have to find the fox in his cave.

  • Deer – In a cave due East of the Settlement. Story-related, as it gives you the first temple key
  • Fox – In a cave in the North East section of the map – Directly North and a little West of the second temple or directly South of the battlefield (Memorial)
  • Bear – In a cave on a vertical island in the North area of the map; South West of the cave where you get the third temple key. Look for the fire to lead you to the cave.

The trophy will unlock upon speaking to the final spirit animal.

Cartographer
Discover all areas of the map.

This will come naturally over the course of the game, as the map is revealed in very generous amounts every time you discover a new area and you will be going to just about every area for story reasons anyway. If for some reason it doesn't, press to open your map and see what area you're missing then simply fly there.

Mama?
Get some Lambaby love.

At the Settlement, fly until you see some farming fields. Nearby is a body of water with a bridge crossing it. Land and you should see a sheep with three lambs. Approach them and the lambs will flock to you with little hearts over their heads, unlocking this trophy. If you're having trouble finding this area, it's almost directly on the opposite side of the island from where the people are.

Hide and Seek
Find Erin when she's gone. (5)

This one is a bit iffy to unlock and has different unlocking conditions depending on whether you're playing the NA and EU versions or the HK version.

For the NA and EU versions, you will need to speak with all three family members at the Settlement – I don't think the order matters but I always did father, then wife, then Erin – twice each (their dialogue repeats after two times) at certain points of the game.

The first time you speak to them should be right after escaping the first cave of the game (the one where you found the lantern). All three will be at the campfire.

The second time you speak to them should be right after collecting the first temple key. All three will be at the campfire.

The third time you speak to them should be right after completing the first temple. Erin will be laying on a tree stump near the campfire.

The final time you speak to them should be right after collecting the second temple key. This time, Erin will be on the cliff above the campsite, either near the boat or near the small tree at the edge of the same cliff. Speaking with her here will unlock the trophy.

If you are playing the HK version, then please watch the following video (credit to The Blakk Vulture) to learn how to unlock this trophy. Basically, don't talk to the family after collecting the second temple key. Instead, clear the second temple, then talk to the father and mother, then talk to Erin, who is located on a cliff near where you unlocked Mama?:

Baa from the past
Find the Ancient Llamba.

The Ancient Llamba is located at the very top of the map, on the same island as the Monastery Temple. Fly around to the back side of the island and you will find the Llamba frozen in a chunk of ice.

An uninvited guest
Find the Crab Island.

North East of the Settlement are a series of circular islands. If flying directly from the Settlement, the first one you come across will be mostly water – in the middle of that water is a tiny patch of sand with a family of dancing crabs. Stand with the crabs to get this trophy.

In the belly of the beast
Find the bones of an old beast.

North East of where you find the second temple key, you will find King's Pass. Here there is a large circle island with a huge ribcage (like dinosaur big). Walk under the ribcage to unlock this trophy.

Gaze into the abyss
Find the dwellings of the rift cult.

Directly South and a little East of where you get the third temple key (in the North area of the map – directly East of the cave with the spirit bear) is a large circular island with cave you can enter (look for the fire). Enter this cave and walk forward a few steps with your lantern equipped to unlock this trophy.

Memorial
Find the ancient battlefield.

Directly North of the fox's cave (Split Mountain - North East) is an ovular island. Land on it and look for a large cluster of glowing symbols. When you find them, equip your lantern and the trophy should unlock immediately. If it does not, walk around among the symbols until it does.

Written in stone
Find the chiseled stone map.

Underneath the island with the second temple and on the East side, there are a handful of tiny islands but do note that these don't show up on your map. On one of the islands is a large mural. Stand in front of the mural to unlock this trophy.

Condor condo
Find the giant birdshrine.

On the island directly West of the second temple, you will find what looks like part of a house with a bunch of birds on each side of the walls. This is the birdshrine. Stand in front of it to unlock this trophy.

Tails of Stone
Find the statue of the fox.

North of the second temple, you will see two circular islands. On the top-most of these islands, you will find the fox statue. Land next to and walk around the statue until the trophy unlocks.

Antlers of Stone
Find the statue of the deer.

South East of the Settlement is a circular island – the only one that doesn't have another island attached to it. This is the island you want to land on. Walk around the statue until the trophy unlocks.

Wings of Stone
Find the statue of the crane.

In the South East corner of the map is the Ruins of Onn – the island looks like a crescent moon. At the top tip of the moon is a small circular island with the crane statue on it. Land and walk around the statue until the trophy unlocks.

Ripples on the surface
Step into the well.

At the Settlement, where the people are, is a well. Simply jump into the water of it and stand there until the trophy unlocks.

Secret Trophies

Light at the end of the tunnel
Escape the collapsing cave.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

The collapsing cave is where you begin the game and serves as a tutorial. Simply collect the lantern and exit the cave to unlock this trophy.

People's Haven
Complete the Eventide Sanctuary.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

Eventide Sanctuary is the first temple and is fairly linear. To solve the pillar rotating puzzle, first interact with the switch directly under the beam of light, then interact with the next switch to the light. This trophy will unlock when Auk steps into the light to warp out of the temple.

If you need help, see Equilibrium for a full game walkthrough.

Knowledge for Power
Complete the The Archives.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

The Archives is the second temple and is still fairly linear. Your main objective is to find the three interactive squares that will light up the diamond door that leads to the exit. This trophy will unlock when Auk steps into the light to warp out of the tunnel.

If you need help, see Equilibrium for a full game walkthrough.

Mausoleum of Ice
Complete the The Monastery.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

The Monastery is the most complex temple but you still can't mess anything up here. The main puzzle you need to solve involves redirecting bouncing light balls across the entire temple to hit a switch that will open the exit door. This trophy will unlock when Auk steps into the light to warp out of the tunnel.

If you need help, see Equilibrium for a full game walkthrough.

Equilibrium
Complete the game.

Story-related and cannot be missed.

Once you've cleared all three temples, go back to the Settlement and to the big pillar floating in the center. Here you will find an area to place your tablet. This will unlock the Creator's Shrine, a pillar in the center of the map – just follow the beam of light you've just made. Make your way through (no puzzles, just simple platforming) and this trophy will unlock when the end credits roll.
